SLR without roof (or a vario-roof)
Several of the images I have seen show an SLR without a roof. ( http://www.sexbuzz.com/pics/2,0006a.jpg )
However, I have not seen any mention of them. Were they a concept car only ?

Dont look for it to ever make production, the entire frame of the SLR provides its structural integrity. A topless SLR will never make it....

Never discount public (economic) pressure. If enough people want a topless SLR, it will come to pass eventually. The power of the economic (whatever) rules most always. Structural problems are possibly the easiest to solve.

topless slr
there has been much discussion about the topless slr, i would not doubt that 2-3 yrs down the road a topless version does make its way into production, mercedes way of keeping the hype on the car high, we have seen this happen alot lately, do not doubt them, when i placed my order for the slr, market mgr said it was a good thing that the car was 3 yrs out, but would not elaborate as to why he said this.
