sl and M-class E320 4Matic SLK350
Of course you can drive them back and forth as many times as you want over the border. Just have to keep the car registered in its country of origin for the required period.

in CAD? wow....
and now i've found the pricing from the official MB site (the financing section...)
http://www.mercedes-benz-financial.c...ator/index.jsp
1. select "2011"
2. select class "other"
3. then selet Body Style (where the only appearing model is... SLS AMG, for $198,000 CAD)

I really think MB's pricing very competitive in Canada when compared what we're used to get in CAD vs. USD...
Actually there's plenty of supercars in Canada considering the tiny "population" is in this country, and I'm not surprised to see new models already runing on the street right after the introduction.

Do you think Canadians are too backwoods for the SLS? You should come for a visit sometime. We now have paved roads, indoor plumbing, electricity and some of us have the internet. The only drawback is that you may find our English difficult to understand. We were thought the language by our American cousins next door. However I think an upper classman such as yourself will have no problem overcoming that small annoying inconvenience. I almost forgot, it may also be difficult to find a pub with tepid beer because we now have refridgeration. Don't worry about the food, most of us have an English cook book in our wallet. I'm just kidding, there is no such thing as English cuisine. Canada is anxious for your visit old chap.

If they can make money selling one for 198,000$ canadian and pay for overseas shipping, how can they justify selling one for 355 000 euros next door?

Prices in norway
It is the norwegian goverment that has insane taxes on cars. In sweden, that is our naighbor country, the cars cost roughly half of what we must pay in norway.
The cars in england cost roughly one third of what we must pay.

The car in Germany sells for € 149K without sales tax. At 1€=$1.25 this equals about $186K in Germany (again excluding sales tax).
