SLS/R197/C197 AMG: It's Here!!

That looks amazing!
I'm itching to pull the trigger on one, and this is going to sound like a stupid question, but:
How much clearance next to the car do the gullwing doors require to open up. Do you foresee any issues if it's parked in non-angled parking space and some SUV parks up relatively closely next to it? (One of those situations where normally you'd have to put one hand on the edge of your door, and open it up so your hand is touching the adjacent car to get in).
Also, this is even more of a silly question, but is there any way to pop the doors open without having to use the handle? I've seen countless videos (by Mercedes) of a door opening without anybody touching the door handles (or in the case of their ad, both doors popping open).
Man, I wish there was one I could see in person around here. My local dealership doesn't have their showroom model in until June, and I've always thought the roofline was a bit flat in pictures. Everybody I've heard from has said it looks much better in person though.

The door handles come out on unlock.. but you have to open manully. There is no auto feature not a option. Weight, Space, Saftey all a reason why there not there..
The roof line looks very good.. It has nice shape almost a double bulge.
We got ours in on the 10th ... i preped it but cant wait for the next one to come in it has the ceramic brake option and the upgarded bang & olufsen sound system which is amazing Its good 2 subs 1000w power and the tweeters come out of the dash corners

That was my concern too, but it actually needs less room than a conventional door of a two-door car of the same size. I think it actually needs less room than the door of an SL or CL. I was pleasantly surprised.

In person its way better. I was lukewarm about this car the past 6 months. I thought it did not look that impressive in pictures. In real life, however, the inside and outside looks way better. Also, when in person, you get to examine the materials and build quality. It is the best built MBZ I have ever seen, and I have had 15 AMG cars in the past 10 years.

The white with the red leather interior is HOT!! That is exactly how I would get one. I still remember back when I ordered my S2000. It was Grand Prix White with red interior, and mine was a 2002 model, so it was the only year with ALL RED interior. The new SLS in that combination is amazing!!

I have seen 2 driving around my neighborhood, one was silver the other was red, both of them sounded pretty damn mean and they look awesome accept for the rear end which i think looks a bit out of place on an otherwise great looking car

Mmmm these are really growing on me now. I'll have one in silver, just like the F1 Safety car
I can't believe how good you guys have it, these things cost nearly US$500k out here. That's it, I'm packing up and moving to America where I can get an SLS for the same price as my C63!

i too had questions about the look of the rear end, but once i got the car it is immediately evident that this is a very harmonious design and that the rear is perfectly appropriate to the car. frankly, the view from the rear, is, in my opinion, one of the best views of the car.
