SLS/R197/C197 AMG: New SlS Model
I am in the market to buy a used SLS-R and I am wondering if anyone knows if and when MB is going to come out with a new body or a refreshened body/lights/ faschia for the SLS. Most car companies do this after 3 ro 4 years of a new model, so that would be next model year as far as the SLS in concerned. Your help is much appreciated .

AMG’s Tobias Moers has confirmed that a new Mercedes SLS is planned – as is a sub-SLS SLC – but it won’t come with hybrid power and electric assistance.
The Geneva Motor Show – which ends this weekend – has seen a proper supercar bonanza with the new LaFerrari and McLaren P1 stealing the show with dramatic looks and dramatic power, both helped by a healthy dose of electric assistance to add a green, and performance, edge.
But the Mercedes take on a supercar – the Mercedes SLS – isn’t set to go down the KERS route ant time soon according to AMG’s Director of Vehicle Development, Tobias Moers, who said that a next generation SLS – which is under development – would rely on weight saving and engine tweaking, just like the new Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series (pictured above), rather than electric assistance for its performance.
Moers also said that Mercedes and AMG realised that the AMG brand doesn’t have the cachet of Ferrari and they have no plans to produce a car to go head to head with LaFerrari (or even the McLaren P1) so we won’t be seeing a hyper-SLS pushed upmarket in to the firing line of Ferrari any time soon.
But Moers also said that Mercedes are looking at producing a ‘baby’ SLS, something we’ve been reporting on since 2009, confirming our report last year that the second AMG model would arrive as the Mercedes SLC to slot above Mercedes’ AMG badged models as the second pure AMG model, complete with rear wheel drive and a V8 under the bonnet.
The Mercedes SLS (and the Mercedes SLC) may not quite have the cachet of a Ferrari, but a new SLS should run it close on performance and it will be good to see a smaller front-engined V8 with rear wheel drive in the new Mercedes SLC.
Looks promising.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I know there are quite a few leftover 2012's on dealer lots that they want to get rid of. I was offered $15k off the bat with no negotiation, but I'm not totally ready yet. I'm sure they could go lower. Hopefully they'll be suffering in Dec. and I can get a good deal.

Seams like the prices have been dropping since the GT replaced the standard SLS
There were even some lower mileage 2012 roadsters for around $165K!
At this rate give them another year or so and you might be able to pick one up for around $120K

Easily going to be around $120K next year
The roadsters still seam to be holding their value fairly well though, the cheapest I've seen is around $163K
