My stock SLS on the dyno
Just ran my 2011 stock SLS on the dyno today and pretty much got exactly what was expected, 457.61 RWHP. Here is the video of the run for those interested. We expect to be able to add at least another 50 RWHP from just a tune alone, factory tune is way rich as you can see from the video of the run below. After tuning to see how much extra HP we can get we plan to move on to twin turbo with a goal of 700-800 HP safely to the wheels.

I was referring to the way the car comes "tuned" from the factory. Its significantly rich, lots of room to straighten out that air/fuel line and get more power and efficiency. Brenton Brown is a master of this. He recently got 60 more HP to the wheels on a stock Camaro ZL1 with just a tune alone:

Good luck with those turbos, it has already been done but with less than impressive results.

Yes I know, but Brenton has a different approached planned, the guy is amazing in what he can do. I expect we will se at least 500 RWHP from just him tuning it alone, but he's waiting to get the proper equipment to do it right. I'll keep you posted.

Good number and that's the excellent way of getting a base number before doing any mods.
I think if the run was on SAE correction smoothing 5, you would get around 440 RWHP. Nevertheless, that's still a great number for a stock SLS with STD correction.

That seem a little low, that over a 20% drivetrain loss assuming 570 crank. What octane was in the car and how hot was it outside? A lot of these cars computers are so smart now they pull timing when picking up bad gas or high temps. Take it to the track if you can 1/4 mile mph is much more telling that dyno #s for performance gains.
Turbos would be awesome, you guys gonna rebuild the motor? 11.3 to 1 compression is pretty agressive for forced induction. anybody had success with turbos in the sls yet? tranny holding up?

the ZL1 is a detuned ZR1 engine and it is easier to get extra power from forced induction cars. Interested to see what he can get out of this car with just a tune. Do you plan on doing any exhuast mod prior to turbos?
Different : blower size (1.9 vs 2.3), heads and valves, pistons, rods, crank (I think), exhaust manifolds, machining process, build process (LS9 hand built and LSA not)
Same: block, head gaskets, head bolts, oil squirters
