Considering a SLS and one thing I'd like to change is the ride height - purely for cosmetics. Performance gains don't matter much as I've other toys for that but I'd rather not compromise on comfort.
Many people replace just the springs and not the struts. This fine however your stock struts were not meant to take the new adjustments so they will not last as long as the struts being on stock springs. It also depends on how you drive and how often.
I guess it depends who you ask but being in this business, it is quite normal to see many customer's just change out the spring. I have had them ask me for new struts later down the road but i also have many customer's who are totally fine with it.
