This was from a few months ago. Cheapest I've found so far but still haven't bought it. Have another five months to keep searching for a better price.

That may help! Jason was highly recommend but he had informed me that the amg warranties don't have much room for discounts. Other models I've seen 20-35+% off retail so I was looking for those numbers...I will probably have to accept reality and pay up haha

I've been to two different dealers in my area in south Florida and none of them is willing to provide an extended warranty for the car as i didn't buy it from them and not even the first owner... Once they plug in the vin nothing comes up, talked to the manager but no use

I contacted Jason again and he said he could probably give a better price for a group buy. If you want, all he needs is the last 7 of your vin and what warranty you want (7/75, 7/100, 6/75, 6/100). Those interested can post those two required pieces of information and I'll forward them along to see what he can do. I'm assuming if we get about five members we can get a break. He just need the last seven of the vin to make sure your vehicle is eligible.

I went back and looked at the txt messages. Is Jason with MB? If not, I personally would be a little worried to buy an aftermarket and not directly from MB.

He works for International Autos in Milwaukee and they have MB under their portfolio, among many other brands. The warranty is through MB directly, no third party bs warranty.

I'm surprised that more people do not self insure. Insurance written by a reliable company has to be profitable with a 50% or better margin when including the sales commission. Sure there will be the rare case where the insurance company eats it but on average it is a very profitable business.
My take always is, self insure where you can. Where else can you make 50%+ on your money on average over a few years.

This true depeding on what breaks. I doubt these cars will give too much trouble but................ who knows. I plan to keep it for the long run so, I'm on the fence on a warranty unless I can get a killer deal. ( That's why I started the thread... the power of the Net! ) I will be driving it at least 7,000 a year.

Guess I'm screwed since I bought from a MB dealer...How does this make any sense at all..
There is an ELW available on the SLS, but the vehicle has to meet certain conditions and here are the details:
- A pre-owned SLS would only be eligible for an ELW only if it meets the following conditions:
o The customer purchased the vehicle privately or through a non Mercedes-Benz dealership AND
o The vehicle has not gone through a Mercedes-Benz dealer’s pre-owned inventory AND
o The vehicle is still under the new vehicle factory warranty.
----> Otherwise it would need to be a Certified Pre-Owned by the dealer and then it would be eligible for the CPO ELW.
if the dealer is unsure of the process they should call the WSG (Warranty Services Group)

Well Dabba and NewportSLS looks like you guys fall under the ineligible extended warranties. If bought from a MB dealer, I would go back and request to see if they can offer a cpo program on them, which is way better than the 7/75.

Jason said you cannot obtain a cpo after the fact but would be worth taking it up with the dealer you purchased it from. Hopefully they can offer it to you. He did say he thinks Fidelity will offer a third party warranty for it if all else fails.

SLS Extended Warrenty
In 2013, we bought 2 sls ... roadster & gullwing. At that time, from Mercedes, we could buy an extended warranty for 7 years, 70,000 miles for $3500 each.
Last year, when I bought a new S class, they told me I got a deal and now they were $6700 ... again a mercedes warranty.
By the way, we still have the SLSs and love and drive them both ... gullwing has 16000 miles and roadster 9000 miles.
