SLS AMG and fresh rubber… Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S
Took for what seems like forever, to get the S4 in SLS AMG sizes. My Dunlop’s have been a little on the smooth side for far too long. I didn’t want to go with the outgoing Pilots; I wanted some super fresh rubber as these will be on the SLS for a long time. This is a “cosmetic review” as it will take me awhile to break them in.
Nice looking tires. I want to try the RE-71r, except I want to see if I can fit a 325/25 in the rear.
On a side note, I think your rotors are pretty worn out. Are you changing pads without rotors or do they wear that much on a set of pads?
Holy cow your Dunlops were done....in fact, pretty scary looking. These new PS4 are supposed to be incredible. I didnt know that there is a break in period for those tires though. Can you elaborate?

Please check your alignment...the second pic is a clear sign of poor alignment.
Never a bad idea when putting on new set of shoes. I will say however that it is not necessarily out of alignment, these sports/exotics are setup relatively aggressively and will wear out rubber in this way.
My Quattroporte used to chew through tires and that wear pattern was nearly identical, despite alignments. I finally asked the shop to dial out some of the aggressive setup to get more miles out of a set.
It was an impeccable ride 5 minutes away to cars and coffee on Sunday. Ha. That's the only time I have driven it.
I wanted to go to Malbu C&C (150 miles round trip or so) but the weather this weekend looks like crap!! Crap!
