Edit: On a side note, not a lot of people like the idea of side mounted front license plate but even Mercedes themselves are doing it so.... 2022 CLS 450
Edit2: You could also consider just placing the plate inside your vehicle, although it is risky, you might still get pulled over.
Some people would go with zip ties, no, don't do that please.

It is located on the top left of your grille but I recommend reading the instructions on page 243 so you don't damage it.

Congratulations on your SLS Roadster purchase! I live in Maryland where a front plate is not required if there is no bracket. I purchased a 2012 SLS Roadster in 2018 & have been very pleased. Please consider joining the Gull Wing Group! This organization has supported the 300SL GW & RO since 1961, and the SLS GW & RO since 2020. Our yearly convention will be held at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia in 9/22. At least 5-6 SLS owners will attend from the Washington-Baltimore area.
