i think I'm going to buy a set of the yellow panels, specifically because of that reason.
As with all things Mercedes-Benz, it's the one-of-a-kind or at least limited or rare features that attract me the most !

No need to rush. Smart will continue to sell the discontinued red and yellow colors in their panel kits. This allows folks with those colors to replace pieces in case of damage.

That's what they told 450 (old model smart owners) and of course they were discontinued as soon as production of the cars stopped around the end of 2006 (actually a bit sooner).
Luckily I got my spare fenders in coloured-through stream green before this, as I knew it'd be stopped.
All they supply now is flat black panels and those with coloured-through panels: black, white, red, stream green - have to get the new panels painted to match the plastic.
My advice to any LONG-term yellow car owners is to get spare panels soon, if you like the yellow.

for the 2008 (451) models,
I know some colors are standard, and thus the spare panel sets are cheaper,
and some colors are special, and so the spare panel set are a bit pricier.
Anyone have the exact run down of colors and prices that the smart centers are selling these spare kits at ?
