Photos of City and Sport Smart Cars in Munich

Just returned from European Delivery. While in Munich was able to capture on film two of the Smart cars we well never see here. The first is the commuter and the second the sport version. (The other photo is a mischevious Santa climbing into a window - we were over there during the holiday season.)

The comuters were all over Italy, but the only sport I saw was in the MB showroom. They are tiny, but comfortable. I believe the engin is in the rear with a transaxle.

Rear engine (would be called mid-engined in a conventional car with some rear overhang; engine is over / ahead of wheels),

DeDion rear suspension (semi-independent).

I saw a lot of the commuters around Frankfurt when I was in Germany a couple of months ago, but no sports. I'm not sure why they're not selling. I think they're cool. I'm headed to Italy tomorrow so I'll get a chance to see what the newest and coolest thing is there.
