Identifying Tag or Label for our Younger Members?

I don't think that it would be a bad idea at all to have an identifying tag or label for/on our younger members (under 16? 16 and under? under 18?) so that we can identify in a thread when a post is from one of our younger members - and respond in a manner or avoid responding in a manner appropriate in consideration of their youth and inexperience - instead of finding out halfway through a thread or 8 posts later...and the flames begin...or we wonder, why did I even bother posting that? Or posting that the way I did? Or If I had only realized.....
I'm not talking censorship -- I'm talking valuable information which will help us all respond to them in a thread. I do think that it would foster better communication, and better threads, on the forum.
I don't want to give examples. I am sure that most of us have their own experiences with this 'difficulty'.

Well, there goes a good idea right down the tubes. I guess people do think that it's OK, and even good to lie these days.....
You've got me there....

It would be a great idea if there was an accurate way to get it to work. However, we really don't have a way of confirming someone's age in order to do this. Also, with such a policy in place, I think we would open the door to problems (maybe even legal) if we try to identify minors on the board. If so, we could be forced to keep them out of certain areas, or we'd have to create forums to keep them out of, and then have to manage that.

You can view the person's Birth date if they have entered it in their Personal profile, which is easy enough to get. But of course, it's not a mandatory entry, and there's nothing really stopping someone from lying.
