Brighter warmer colors I would hate. Harsh on the eyes and what not.
That's at least my opinion! At Ferrarichat I changed my theme immediately from that red white to black / grey white.
I guess we could work on multiple styles and themes.. that's a thought to think about.

Allow100x100 pixels in the avatars vs. the 65x65 that is allowable now.
Spell check would be great as many here could benefit from it.
Could also use some new "smiles" I've seen some great one's on other forums.

I have to say, I love the black and red screen. It is still subtle, so it won't be noticeable at the office to who ever likes to mess around during work. (LOL...I am on alot during class.) I think you should change it to that (black and red), just please don't add repetitive sound effects. But a sound clip forum is an interesting thought...

it is possible to do more than one themes
for an example ( elegance= dark or black , Sport=hmm! red "maybe or maroon, etc )
BUT .... where is the site owner? :
