Where is the W123 forum?

no-blue-screen - can you give me more information on the W123 so I can get some guidance on where to add it?
We can always add more forums if we see that there will be traffic for it

Perhaps a W116 forum as well?
The W116 is the S-class before the W126. It deserves a forum, too.
The W123 and the W116 were both models that helped to create Mercedes' legendary reputation for quality, reliability, technological innovation and overall leadership in the automotive world.
Hard to tell how much traffic either a W123 or W116 forum will generate. However, we will never know without a forum for each.
PS: I suspect it may take some time to generate any momentum for either forum, as they are both older models and any owners/enthusiasts visiting mbworld may have already turned away because there was no forum for them. Like I said, we will never know unless we have a forum for each.

Any W123 forum would go under MB sedans, alongside W126, W124 and similar forums.
PS: The W123 did have a coupe as well, but that can be part of the same forum, just as W126 SEC's are part of the general W126 forum.

Thanks, egutie. There are a lot of knowledgable people at MBW, and I feel like I learn something new all the time.
I love reading about cars, and reading about Mercedes Benz's both old and new is always a good time.
I love to see that we have active W126 and W124 forums here. Both were great cars and solidified MB's reputation for quality, innovation and leadership. Having W126 and W124 forums here helps to keep that heritage alive. The W123 and W116 deserve that same respect.
If any of you have seen the movie Ronin, you will know what the W116 is. It is the 1970's burgundy S-class featured in that movie.
The W116 450SEL 6.9 was hailed as one of the greatest cars ever built.

"The Mercedes-Benz W116 automobiles were produced from 1972 through 1980, and the first Mercedes models to be officially called S-Class, after prior sedan models designated with an S were unofficially called so earlier."

And some info on the high performance, W116 450SEL 6.9:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_450SEL_6.9
"In the words of David E. Davis, the 6.9 was "a $50,000 exercise in going fast." Still, for fans of the discontinued 6.3 or for those who simply had to have a car which Car and Driver proclaimed to be "the greatest Mercedes-Benz ever built," it seemed that money was no object.

When I was a kid in the 80's I would wet my pants everytime I saw an SEL or an SEC! I knew I always wanted a Benz after seeing those!

True. It was always the Sl in the late sixties, early seventies and the SEC's through their entire run. Still would love having one.

Just a suggestion, but what about a forum for all of the older MB models? A vintage forum. It would cover all models before 1985 that do not otherwise already have their own forum.

You're killin' me.
Just went to take a look and there's an '87 with 38K miles. I'm a sucker for a clean lo miles classic. I need a storage facility and an unlimited budget. Where's Jay Leno when you need him???
