What’s the deal with all these advertisements?

I’m scrolling through the W204 forum and it’s like every other post is from a vendor trying to sell their stuff. What’s the point of a Vendor Marketplace forum if they’re allowed to spam the other forums? It’s annoying to try to sift through the CAPSLOCK SALES ANNOUNCEMENTS to find legitimate threads by actual owners.

This question gets asked periodically. It does get annoying but I mean they are sponsors on this forum so they kind of fund the cost running the forum, so it is what it is I guess.

Supposedly you can adjust your feed, by going to personalize this feed, under new posts, at the top of the page, which i have done, but still overwhelmed by all the stupid spoilers and wheels.

Interesting, didn't know about that, do you mind giving more detailed steps to doing so?

It can be overwhelming. I was told in a similar thread that personal settings can minimize or eliminate unsolicited ads. I haven’t looked too much into it, though.

me neither.

I suppose the fact that this question comes up periodically means that nothing will be done about it.

I don’t think editing my feed personalization will help, because I’d be excluding the W204 forum as a whole.

But I wonder if it’s possible to block the offending users so that I won’t see any of their threads. I would be satisfied with that method.

Edit: I found the option to “ignore user”, but it didn’t have the outcome I desired. Their threads were still visible, but the messages within their posts were removed. Oh well.

Go to forum named new posts. Second line from top of the page is titled personalize this feed. Select that line and make your selections. I excluded almost everything. Made no difference.

New Posts is the most annoying for ads, with wheel vendors being the worst. They post an ad on each and every individual model forum, and the same ad then appears a dozen times in New Posts. Too bad it's impossible to filter out replicated posts.

Frankly it is not a daily thing they do that, although most of the days of the week though, maybe other than weekends.
