Exclamation Group Buy - Laser Interceptor (LI) Jaser Jammer

Hi folks. I have floated the idea of this group buy and there is a decent amount of interest so with the help of the admins and their approval, a full-on GB is in play.

Here are the details of the GB itself, product info follows:

I will run this GB through mid February allowing everyone up to two weeks to get this together. Payments will be made directly to LI who accept credit cards. I will require that everyone who is interested PM me with a firm "order." Once I have the required amount I will submit them to LI for execution and they will invoice you, bill you and ship to you directly. Shipping is included to all conti U.S. purchases, international folks will need to add $35 and if you want Fedex in the U.S. it's a $45 upgrade.

LI offers two types of units. The smaller one is for front-end protection only with dual heads and the larger unit covers both front and rear with quad heads.

This GB covers both. Retail for the quad head unit is $1225 and in this GB is discounted to $1,075 with FREE shipping. The smaller dual unit retails for $700 and is available here for $625 with FREE shipping.

On the subject of pricing I'd like to point out that while this shows up from time to time a bit cheaper than this it is a non-warranteed sale. That is only purchases from an LI authorized source will have access to support and service. An MBWorld member recently pointed me to a reseller that had a slightly lower price. By selling at that price, this particular dealer was "fired" by LI and can no longer sell them. What's worse - people who buy from these unauthorized sources do not have warranties and are SOL if there is an issue down the road.

Enough on the mechanical aspects of the transaction, here are links and info detailing the product itself. As you can see the product is light years ahead of every other solution out there. Furthermore, as this product may be illegal in your particular locality (check with your own applicable laws please) this product can be used as a parking aid. After all, none of us want to mar our beautiful Merc finishes! Please read through the independent tests, check out some of the videos and you too will come to the conclusion that this is the best bet out there. Let's save ourselves a few bucks by banding together on this GB!

On a side note - there is a ton of talk about the Escort 9500 installations and comparing them to this. It's like comparing a $2.23 plastic flashlight to a surefire combat light. See for yourselves in the graph below on which guns each cover. As you can see, the Escort shifter (same as in the 9500) flops about half of the guns.

Again, I need a firm PM order from you by February 15 for this to qualify.

Best,
Peet

Is there any difference between the group buy dual unit for $625 and the UK version for less than $475? http://www.laser-interceptor.co.uk/

Was there any testing done for these (High Power) heads? What makes them superior to the regular LI heads that justifies double the price tag? I’m assuming the chart above was based on the regular LI heads(correct me if I’m wrong), which shows Jam To Gun against most laser guns, except for the TRAFFIPATROL XR gun. And I don’t believe that specific laser gun is used anywhere in the US anyways, it seems to be mostly used in Europe and other parts of the world. So my questions are, what’s special about these High powered heads? do they at least have better results against the TRAFFIPATROL XR laser gun? Any testing results comparing them against the regular heads? Why should I consider them when the regular heads already JTG on laser guns used in the US.

I’m interested in the QUAD set up, but I’m really puzzled on which would be the better choice! I would obviously like to get the latest technology, but I would hate to throw money on the high powered version if the regular version can do the same. Let me know if you have any data or testing comparing the two, it would immensely help me narrow it down, and I'm sure it will help other members here too.

That's interesting! it also shows the quad for $797. I don't think there is a different version for the US since they(LI) are located in Europe somewhere. It might be an import tariff of some sort that’s driving the US price up.

Hi stealth -

I have some additional in for you (and everyone else interested)...

Yes, the HP LE Sensors were actually the same Sensors used at GOL 07 as seen in these VIDS produced by GOL of the HP LE mounted on Radar Roy's Freightliner Motor-Home:

http://speed.g-zona.hr/proof/Laser_I...versus_PL2.wmv
http://speed.g-zona.hr/proof/Laser_I..._Ultralyte.wmv
http://speed.g-zona.hr/proof/Laser_I...sus_3_guns.wmv

The LI HP LE DUAL and LI HP LE QUAD have twice the effective jamming power of the standard LI. Additionally, the Laser Diode Devices in the HP LE are oriented with one horizontally and one vertically making the over affective divergence of the beams much broader as well as creating a more intense beam where the two beams overlap. If you want the best regardless of cost, the LI HP LE is for you although the standard LI will provide adequate JTFG (Jam to and From Gun) performance for all passenger vehicles, trucks and SUV's. As they are special order and rarely tested by any of the known LIDAR testing groups, it is unlikely that any hard empiric data will come about unless it is tested by them or GOL. One can also interpolate the results of the single Laser Diode Standard LI and determine that the jamming capability of the HP LE will be greatly enhanced. If you want front and rear LIDAR protection, the Standard LI QUAD will suffice as will the Standard DUAL for those just wanting only front LIDAR protection.

I understand that the problem with the TraffiPatrol XR was one of the sensors used at GOL was NOT TraffiPatrol enabled so only one sensor was actually firing effectively. The new Laser Interceptor sensors all have TraffiPatrol XR capability but as you noted, that LIDAR is NOT used in The USA.

As to your second post - the UK outfit has been fired by LI. Whatever they are offering, they are doing so as a gray marketer. Anything bought from them won't be warrantied or supported by LI. Be very careful.

I also saw on the BMW forum that they took orders and wrote back that they had to refund people because they didn't have inventory. Bad situation all around. In fact LI just announced that the USA distributor will be the one handling the UK.

Hope this helps - please shoot me a PM to order - I need to get this cranking! We have about half of the orders needed.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply Peet!

I’m still not clear on the chart above from the 25th 2008 testing, whether it was done using regular or the high powered heads. According to the guys of lidar website(http://www.guysoflidar.com/july-2008...mmer-test.html), they used regular heads since they didn’t mention anything about high powered or special version LI heads.

Can you please clarify that part?

The chart was regular heads. The new high power heads take this over the top basically. These HP LE heads were put on a motor home to prove a point - these are so powerful they can hide a bus! Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Thanks for clarifying which LI heads were used in the chart, useful info

Also, the motor home on these videos, the sources say it had four regular LI heads in the front, and not the high powered limited edition heads as you mentioned. This is according to the 2007 testing on this site( http://www.guysoflidar.com/march-200...mmer-test.html ) if you scroll all the way to the bottom, you'll find the same video links you posted here.

Here is a snippet of the info about the videos you posted, :

Extreme Worst-Case: Roy's RV

Roy's RV represents an ultimate worst-case vehicle. It wouldn't be practical to use for a comprehensive test, but we decided to try a few test runs with one of the jammers. Four Laser Interceptor heads were installed.

None of us thought it would be able to JTG, especially run after run, with all different laser guns.

We were wrong.

Here's the videos:

ProLaserII
LTI Ultralyte
Three Laser Guns
StealthJamal finally gets a punchthrough
As you can see, these videos don't really show any HP LE in action for comparison wise, if you have anything else, please share!

Yes they will - though it's a charge of I believe $35 for the shipping. If you want to order (pending the shipping thing), send me a PM - I can get you talking to LI who will give you an exact quote for shipping flavor of your choosing.

Spyderman - yes they can. Send me your email address via PM and I'll get you going.

Also which flavor of unit do you want?

Stealth - I am checking ... I assumed by four heads they used two front/two rear with the fronts running high perf. I'll confirm.

Me too!

I just got my first fast car in 20 years and got 2 tickets in 3 weeks! Both times they got me with laser guns. Is the group purchase still available? Thanks.

Will this affect my Valentine one at all?

Anyone aware if they are using laser in Illinois? I think I've heard of some state troopers using it.

Thanks!

How much should it cost to install? 1 hour labor? When will they ship?

They will ship within a day or so of conversation regarding payment. All items are in stock except the HP LE models which are special order. Though even those I've been told are two or so weeks.

Installation depends on how crazy you want to get and what kind of car you have. On a W204, I figure I could do it in about two hours if I took my sweet time. If you can follow simple diagrams and have basic hand tool knowledge (and knowledge of your car or diagrams of your car) you can fumble through it in about three to four tops. A pro installer can probably do it in an hour.

Hope this helps - oh, I just see you have an S600 - so it would probably be easier as you have a larger body to work with (bigger/more vent openings, larger interior to get around in when pulling wire etc).

Jump on in - water's fine
