W210 E55 front brake replacement - Need HELP!!!

Dealer is stating that it is time to replace front rotors/pads on my '02 E55.
He quoted $1200 for the job

Please help! - any reliable brake shop in LA area or place to order parts from?

U can get the new rotors at the dealer for about $500 and you can get dustfree brake pads for about $125 (they are the same as the BMW Z8). You can do them your self or got to any Brake Masters and they will charge you $100 and it should only take them an hour to do. I changed my own and it was very simple. I got my rotors through a buddy at wholesale and I paid under $400. If you are willing to buy your own parts you can save some $$$$. By the way are you sure your rotors are shot? If you only need to pads it can be done for under $200 with dust free pads, like Axxis or Portfield.

Do you know where I can get the rotors from - dealer want's $315 for each.
The cheapest I found on the Net is $270 each.

$270 isn't too bad and if you can pick them up that will save you some money because these AMG rotors are very heavy to ship.
You might be able to find some on Ebay and if they aren't selling your exact model, contact the seller any ways most of those companywill be able to geht them for you. Back in August the average price was $515 or something very close to that.
