E55 Kleeman vs www.jimmy540i.com
i want to get some feedback.
do you think a stock E55 with only the Kleeman and lowering springs modification can take on this modified BMW 540i?
thanks...

The car featured is Latrell Sprewells car- the last time I checked it could hammer ANY 540i with a squirrel cage attached to it- Latrell loves it and his CL55K (which he calls his favorite car, and he has many).
Y E S ! ! ! ! Here's what you do. Get a kleemann speed sensitive suspension and then add a kleemann kompressor that's set a .06 bar. You should have about close to or over 600HP. Jimmy's 540i won't even come close to this power.
.06bar= .88 psi (.06 x 14.7) This wont bring much HP!
.6 bar however.......
FYI-

.6 bar however.......
Thanks for straightening it out Kleemann!

The major issue with 0-60 times is traction- you just cant put enough tire on a W210 with 510 lbs/ft to mitigate wheel spin. Over half of the distance covered in a typicall KLEEMANN V8 run is with the tires smoking.
As for the 1/4 mile- you are right- I posted standard car numbers, my mistake, 12.5 @ 113.
Please see http://www.mbautowerks.com for more info.
This is what Kleemann is talking about.

Enjoy the smoke!!
12.5 for the quarter is much better, but a bit conservative perhaps?
I know that 0-60 times are limited by traction, even in the std E55, but I would expect a 1/4 mile time for a 3900lb 550hp car to be a flat 12 on a properly prepared dragstrip.
You can see in the video that the CLK is being "braked" to help with the burnout. I can and have done the same as the video, without resorting to using braking tecniques on a standard E55, the trick is getting the car to continue the spinning into 2nd.
My point being that smokey burnouts prove nothing, dyno graphs and ultimately 1/4 mile times are real world measures.
There is no doubt however of the performance capabilities of the Kleemann supercharger conversion. The recent toppling of Brabus for the worlds fastest 4 door sedan is EMPIRICAL proof of this.

You are right, smoking tires does not mean anything, but it
proves a lot of power. 100% sure, you don't have to work hard
on the brake to make a burnout with a KLEEMANN.
The 1/4 mile done by MB Autowerks CLK 55 K, is on OE AMG 17"
wheels, which doesen't offer much grip.
Change the wheels / tires on that car and the 1/4 mile will be faster.
A lot of people discouss acceleration times, don't forget which type of car we are talking about. It's a heavy limousine ( 1800 kg )
+ driver and with a good grip you can do 4,5 - 5 sec. 0-100 km/h,
this is not too bad ????.
To improve these cars many sec., is impossible from 0-100 km/h,
but from 100 and up the difference is huge.
After all, these cars are made for " Autobahn ", not 1/4 mile.
Both cars are great cars! I love the lines of the CLK55. How would a SL55AMG standup

I think the race would be very close and most 1/4 mile runs are decided by the best launch.
That video is off the hook
Here is a video of my car getting a little smoke, not as impressive as the clk55. It's a Dinan 5 stage 5 540iA without the supercharger. It's got the Slush box like Jimmy's. I'm brake standing for a very short time as you will see in the video. 2nd gear is getting all the smoke. For reference those are new 19" x 10" wide Pzero's being abused.
Specs on my car 330+ hp and 364 + torque. Jimmy's car has over 120 hp more. His corrected dyno readings are under estimated at 17 percent loss. It should have been 20 percent.
I'll take 9-10 psi!
