![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
What are pros and cons of having non-staggered wheels on the 210 E55? Do they have to be staggered to fit right? I'm looking at some 20" wheels that happen to not be staggered, due to the fact that 19" are getting hard to find for what I want. Can anyone help? Thanks

I don't recommend it but if you are determined I would suggest some custom built forged rims that come with a guaranteed fitment and then you could also do the staggered setup. The specs for the OEM front rim is:
18x8.0 et31 245/40/18
If you can find someone to build a:
20x8.0 et31 245/30/20
Word of caution. 8.5 et35 will not work with a 245 tire.
18x8.0 et31 245/40/18
If you can find someone to build a:
20x8.0 et31 245/30/20
Word of caution. 8.5 et35 will not work with a 245 tire.

I want to go with 19", but can't find chrome ones nice enough and priced where I can afford.
I'm on a $2200 budget. And I'm picky. I don't really like the thin spokes that most 19" are in my price range.
Suggestions??

I have another question.
I found some wheels online that are 19x8.5 and 19x9.5.
The fronts have a 35mm offset, and rears with 37mm offset at this size wheel.
Will these offsets work on both front and rear? What if I just get the 19x8.5 all around...will they fit alright on the front?
I figure though I may need a spacer in anyway unless I do 19x8.5, I may not need them for rear.
Any insight for me...Thanks

By the way, a few questions:
1) What problem will 20s solve that 19s can't?
2) What problem will 20s solve that 18s can't?
3) What problem will staggered wheels solve?
IMHO: 20s look gaudy and ride terribly. 19s are pushin' it. 18s is where it's at for W210. This is from a guy who has had cars with wheel sizes from 14" - 19" through the years. My last ride had 19s on it. It looked sweet as anything out there. But, my face was tired from wincing all day whenever I hit bumps.

It doesn't have to be trial and error. It just takes time and patience...and a little research.

It will be T&E because most tire sources including the much respected Tire Rack will say many offsets work on W210 E55 and they don't. I did the T&E and another owner E55JAY did also and it did not work.

Here is my W210 with 20 x 8.5 in front and back. they ride the same as my old 18s and i don't have any problems. The car is lowered on H&R springs aswell.

That is hard to believe. Pristine roads and no potholes where you live? Roads conditions are so bad here I would not put on 19's.

I live in Nor Cali and the roads are not the greatest but I have lived here for 10 years now and I know what roads to drive on and what ones not to. I am running 225/35/20 for tires and I have not had any problems. I try to stay out of the Frisco area because they have the wirst roads I have ever seen.

1) 20's have a better looking selection (that I am looking 4)
2) I want to go a little bigger. Not huge.
3) Staggered come factory. At least that is what I have now.
I agree totaly. But I am a chrome person, and it seems most of the one's that I like...like lowenhart, giovanni (spelling?), to name a few, only come in 20 & 22 etc.
But ride comfort and performance are what I like.
As much as I love the look, which is why we all buy the nice wheels, I want to be safe.

Nice looking ride EClass_VIP. Those 20's look great! And looks like plenty of room. Did you have any problems with the 20's?
I live in Maine right now, so road suck as bad as the worst. No joke.
But I leave for Nashville in Nov 07. The roads are like nght and day. Tennessee takes great care of most of the roads. So can't wait for that. I tell the wife daily how I hate driving up here.
I was looking at some 19's from Zenetti Heir. They have chrome and also black with chrome lip. My E55 is also black. I was gonna go chrome, but seeing the black on yours has me thinking.
What does everyone else think of these wheels?

I have no problems with these wheels. The tire set up that I have is the max that I can go. Other wise I will rub. I get some good and bad compliments on the wheels. They used to be all silver but I had them painted black. I like it better like this.

+35 offset. I had these on my 1998 audi A8 before it was flooded with water. Some people liked it better when the wheels were silver. They said that the wheels lost that bling look. That was the whole reason for me wanting to have them painted black. i don't like the whole Blinged out DUB look.

Do I need staggered wheels for my car? I realize I don't need them for the car to run, but does it perform better with the different widths?
I'd rather not go staggered, it's a little more expansive the wider it is. Can anyone give me some good and bad things about it.
Thanks

My car was a little different having a blower, but even stock, I wanted all the traction I could get and there was plenty of room for more rubber in the rear, but not much in front. I ran a 285 Pilot Sport on the 18X9 monoblocks and can't imagine putting less rubber on the rear. It helps both straight line traction and handling. Of course, that prevents rotating your tires and I only got 6-7K miles out of a rear set. I also thought the staggered lip size looked good, but performance was my first priority. There is a reason the factory went with staggered sizes.
