Polished Cam Covers
While detailing my engine bay, I noticed a small blemish on one of the cam covers, so I used a bit of metal polish to get it out. But I was amazed at how brilliant it left the surface. Thus, I decided to polish all exposed areas of both cam covers. I'm really pleased with the results, gives it more of that "tuned" looked. (Not sure how long the finish will last though...)

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Eric - If I had a 430 engine, I would do the open section of exposed manifold between the engine cover.
Kev - Clear coat seems like it would take a lot of work, with all the masking needed to protect from over spray. Might as well get em painted professionally, but I'm not going that far.
I'll just wait and see how long the finish holds up before getting carried away with this again.

Looks awsome man! What do you mean when you said you "used a bit of metal polish to get it out" what kind did you use and where did you get it? How hard was it to polish and how long?
Thanks!

(Sorry for the late reply, was out of touch for a while.) I used Blue Magic metal polish cream. It took some elbow grease and sore fingers, because I was too lazy to take the engine cover & air intakes off. But it really wasn't that hard to get the metal to shine.
