E63 Twin Turbo ???
Does anybody know if the new 63 engine will get turboed?
I read several rumors online, but nothing confirmed yet.
If it will get turboed, what are the estimated hp/tq figures and when is it expected to be released?

I have read a paragraph on the Australian "WHEELS" magazine (this year issue: jan or feb), they stated that AMG is working on a project called "hammer" which produces 425kw (570hp) version and 550kw (737hp).

Also I got a brochure type marketing thing from AMG UK and they gave a time line of new model releases - i'll post it up - (meant to do it sooner but forgot
)... point is there are no turbo's mentioned and thats going into late 08.
I think they will come but they will be uber-expensive a-la 65 range and will probably be beyond the E class range. Maybe the performance studio can trick one out for us ... although mbe the guru's here will lead the way and add some turbo's to a 6.3!!!...
The Hammer 1 might find its way into an E ... given its power output etc...
I think they are ready to go ahead with the turbo plans - they just need to get their 7sp tranny beefed up .... think thats the bottle neck at mom.

Yes a turbo version will happen, but not until a new E arrives. This will be timed to coiencide with the facelift for the S/CL. Just like before the when the SL55 arrived and the S/CL got the same engine for their facelift, all for the 2003 model year. Figured on the turbo coming for 2010.
