Please HELP! Re: Sprint Booster
I just received my Sprint Booster that I ordered last week for my
W210. I have a 2000 E55.
.....So I was very excited to get this baby on the car, but the problem is that when I took my gas pedal off and tried to look for the wire, there is no wire? I went off the instructions that were posted on several forums by other members, and some even included pictures. This seems simple enough and I recall several members saying that it should only take about 10 minutes to install. I am wondering if our cars have it located in a different spot? I was comparing the pictures that were posted on the W211 forum and mine looks a bit different.
Has anyone installed a Sprint Booster on a W210?, or maybe someone has the instructions downloaded for a 2000 E55. I would greatly appreciate some feedback.
Thanks in advance!
Felipe

Never mind. Problem solved! Just some helpful info for anyone with a 2000 W210 that is going to be installing the SprintBooster, the wire with the stock plug is NOT located near the gas pedal(not on our cars) it is actually located under the hood right next to the electric throttle body sensor.
Just finished pluggging it in and took it for a drive. My opinion.....this mod is 100% worth the money! I was able to notice the throttle response IMMEDIATELY!! just my 2 cents.

I'm ordering the sprint booster for the same car - 2000 E55 - and would really appreciate some instructions and/or pictures of the intsallation. I'm frankly a moron with respect to car repair etc. and am not even sure what the throttle thing in the engine compartment looks like, so any little bit of detail you could provide would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I purchased the Sprint Booster from CKS Performance. I paid $285.00 including shipping. The sales rep. was very helpful, and from the research I did, I found them to be the best priced. I can't guarantee if they are the lowest price out there, but like I said I found them to be the lowest out of the companies I looked into.
Here is their info: www.cksperformance.co.uk

ZE55: I have only had the mod on my car for about a week now, but I am 100% satisfied with the results! You can definitely notice the immediate response in acceleration!
...just to give you a little bit of background on my overall experience with my car. I bought my E55 about 2 years ago. Before I bought my car I had test drove another E55(same year), and had fell in love with the power!
When I bought my car, I immediately noticed that although it had great power, it did not have that immediate response when I would accelerate. I would describe it as a delay in throttle response. I went to two different Mercedes shops here in South FL and told them to look at the car, but none of them were able to solve the problem..Needless to say I was never totally happy with my car's performance, and I always felt like it could run much better......fast forward to the present time, after Sprint Booster. and I can honestly say that this is the mod that my car needed all along! The only thing I regret is not having installed the Sprint Booster on my car 2 years ago!
Please understand that although this mod, does not add power to your car, it brings out the true (hidden) power and torque that our cars have. All I can say is that I am much happier with my car's performance, and in my opinion this mod is the best bang for your buck out there!
ZE55: To install the Sprint Booster on our cars you have to open the hood and look at the top right corner of the engine compartment, and you will see the electric throttle body. If you are having trouble finding it, just have someone get in the car and give it some gas, and you will see that this specific piece moves when the car is accelerated. Once you have identified the throttle body, you will see that there is an electronic piece that connects to the lower end of it, and if you compare that piece to the Sprint Booster, you will notice that it is the same connection. Just unplug the factory piece, and then plug in the Sprint Booster in its place. You will then proceed to plug in the factory plug into the other end of the Sprint Booster. Just imagine this being like a piggy-back unit. If you have any trouble please e-mail me and I will try to get you some pics. I apologize if my install instructions are bad, like I said if you need some pics just send me an e-mail felipemtgpro@yahoo.com .
Good Luck!
Felipe

Felipe:
Thanks a bunch for the instructions and feedback on the sp. I am no doubt getting it, and hopefully will have no problem with the install following your response. I have one more questoion - did you get the sp made for the AMG (A2) or the regular one (A1)?
Much appreciated.

Sprint Booster Rocks!!!!
After reading so much about it, I decided to order one from e-bay through some one in HK. Well, after few days of waiting, I finally got it. The install was so simple (about 3 minutes in my garage), I had thought this couldn't be as good as everyone had touted. Well, friend, let me just say "WOW!!!" It is incredible, it makes the car so edgy. Keep in mind that this item does "not add any HP or Tq, but the throttle response is immediate and linear. Well worth the $300 including shipping). The car feels like it should, gobs of torque on demand, no hesitation, no waiting. I can't stop from wanting to take the car out for a spin.....now, my S600 just sits in the garage, the E55 is much more fun to drive. For those skeptics out there, go and get it, you will be converted and singing the praises of this little gadget.

Nothing wrong with that....it is this type of stuff that makes these types of forum so great. If I didn't here it from here, I would have never found out about it. What a joy it is to enjoy our great rides even more....

since it has better throttle response, in your opinion, do u think it is actually quicker than before or is it just more satisfying to drive because of the crisper throttle
