First time taking my '99 E55 for service
I know my car is still under the orignal warrentee and I only have 21K miles on it.
My question are
1. What are they going to do?
2. It's it like my BMW where the service is FREE?
THanks
unfortunatly service on your 99 is not free,,in northern va 475.00
if you had purscased a 2000 the service would be included for 4 years or 50k miles
Here's whats done:
filter change and synthetic oil
new dust filter
inspect brake pads and rotors
rotate wheels
check and correct fluid levels
reset FFS indicator
The list doesn't seem too hard for a non-mercedes mechanic to do. I go to an independent garage for a $10 oil change with my Redline oil and OE filter and for the other stuff I don't want to do myself. The resetting of the FFS indicator is done as a favor by the dealer.
Shop around and have enough left over for the champagne room.
includes A-service
replace wiper inserts
lubricate and inspect trottle linkage
balance wheels
inspect undercarriage for leaks
check a/c refrigerant level
inspect V-belt
Its still no bargain.

Without the warranty, it is expensive like others said. But standard oil change/filter by a reputable Euro shop should be $70.00, unlike 125.00 at the dealer..
