Questions on Xenon/HID
I have a few questions that need to be answered or confirmed.
1. Does anyone know what type of Xenon Bulb is in a '99 E55? D2R (projection type) or D2S (used in Ellipsoidal system)? My car is at home and I want to order some Stage II HID bulbs from work.
2. Stage II HID bulbs the sames as Philips 6000k Ultinons/Cool Xenon Bulbs?
3. How do you make your Citylights(maybe refered as running lamps) and Foglights look whiter without converting to true HID system.

W210 uses D2R for reflector systems.
I just ordered some PIAA H3 Plasma bulbs for my fogs - but have been disappointed in past attempts to change that yellow to white or blue legally.

I probably going to pick up stage II HID from suvlights if they get back to me. It is $100 bucks less than hids4less.
I'm still wondering if Stage II HID and Philips 6k Xenon cool HID are the same as Stage II HID. I think Stage II HID is a generic term saying they are 6K Xenon bulbs. Still investigating.
Kev, please tell me how the fogs turn out. Thx.

Sorry for the stupid question, but are the xenon lights covered by the warranty? I ask b/c I believe one of my xenon lights is out. The driver side light is blue, while the driver side is the normal white. But, there are no malfunction indication.

Yes, HID bulbs are covered under warranty.

Well, my driver side light finally went out. Then the malfunction light came on. But, before the light went out, it was a very cool looking blue. The lights are OEM. I am glad to hear that my OEM lights are covered by the warranty. Thanks for the help!!!

I'm going to order the D2S bulbs from suvlight today. I know our w210 uses D2R bulbs, but according to the guy I'll get better output with he D2S. Only modification I have to do is make a little notch with a dremil on the bulbs housing.
Wish me luck. I'll try to post before and after pictures.
