Test cars: Mercedes SL 55 AMG, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Porsche GT 2, Maseratti 3200 GT.
The fastest was the SL 55 AMG with 30 secs. Second was Lamorgini with 32 and then the Porsche with 34 secs.
The SL had about 500 HP and was delimited to 320 km/h. The reason for winning this test was the 5 gear automatic transmission. While other cars with manual transmission are loosing speed when they change from the 5th to the 6th gear. The automatic transmission is always giving you the maximum torque.

Lambo and Porsche GT2 beat the SL55 to 100 and 200 km, but when it came to 300 kmh the SL took them nice , just like you said due to the 5th grea auto.

Thanks,
Please post any pics you have, I always enjoy seeing new photos of the awesome 5.5.
Now it's time to lower the Beast slightly with the 1 and 2 spring pads. Just picked them up yesterday and ready to attempt the install myself.

Great looking car, as it is now. Subtle lowering looks even better. Getting a tint will help in Houston heat and looks great too, unless you like the more classic look.
Have you considered replacing the star with AMG badge? I am staying with the star for now.

I've been debating about tinting, it would look great but I've never liked tinting too much, my wife would like that though.
Once I get back on my feet (damn economy, daycare and stock market), I'll start mods in the car. Basically a supercharger and lowering the ca, may be Lowendhardt wheels too.

Actually that still looks pretty high. You need to lower it more!

What do you guys recommend for basically a 1" drop from US spec on the E55?
I have the #1 spring pads and was going to proceed with that change, hoping for 1/2 to 1" drop, but MBrabus is saying it's actually not much of a difference.
I don't want to spend $1000 just to be 1" lower!
