My E55 with Toyo T1R tires!

These tires are great for the money. I paid $721. at Edge Racing in Miami for all 4 of my Toyo T1R's in stock size 245F / 275R. They run smooth with very low sound and hook in the rain. Here are some pic's

I'm glad those worked out for you, they're great but I didn't have good results with them in the rain when I had them on my previous W210. I ended up switching to the Toyo Proxies and those handled a bit better in the rain.

You had problems in rain with the T1R or the T1S? T1S did not do as well as these new tires from Toyo. Maybe due to tred being low in the rain? So far these tires are great but they are still new only 200+ miles on them.

Let us know if they get noisy after a few thousand miles. Almost all tires are quiet when new.

My friend with a 04 E55 W211 has them on for 7000 miles no noise. This is why I choose to get them based on his experience with them. He likes them so much there going on his Porsche Cayman that has PS2 on wheel.

At NASA this weekend there were many sports cars running T1R's that made me glad on the chose. The other popular tire was Hankooks.

I have the T1R's with 11K miles on them and they are still silent on the freeway and still stick nicely even in the rain!

That's good to hear 11k on the Toyo T1R's. I had Falken 451 on my S class burned off fast but I hear the 452 have more tred and last longer. I looked at them but found a lot of people did not like them after many miles were spun with um.

You're absolutely right, my bad. Yes, I just looked up my old receipt (I keep everything, lol) and they were T1S tires. Glad they made good with the T1R. I like Toyo's...

I have Falken FK452 (Treadwear 300) on my E55 with 10K on them. So far the fronts are less than 50% worn, and the rears more than 50% worn. I drive hard, so I would be content to get another 10K out of the rears. The *uckers stick to the ground very well, but they ain' quiet.

I have the Nexen N3000's and they are great... they seem to hold well, even on wet roads. I got the whole set installed for 430 bucks. They are quiet, comfortable, and absorb most of the bumps in the road. So yeah, I would recommend them to everyone. Very good tires IMO.

Just got another buddy of mine who has a beamer coupe to get the Nexen N3000's on his BBS 19's and he loves them. Good price too from Donald, just ask Nocturnal!

I could be way off base on this but here is my theory on the wet pavement thing.

Could it be possible that tires in general will stick better to wet pavement in regions of the country where it rains more frequently? I live in the desert near Yuma, AZ and it rarely rains here at all. Whenever it does and no matter what I am driving, the roads tend to be slippery as hell. I think this is because oil from asphalt and/or oil from other vehicles accumulates on the surface of the pavement and if it gets wet, those oils float on top of the water and make the road slick.

Conversely, in areas of the county where it rains alot, like Florida or NoCal, most of this extra oily stuff gets washed away frequently and the only thing between your tires and the road is water.

Anybody think there is any validity to this idea?

i would agree with the rain theory. I have noticed my Toyo's will spin more when I make left and right turns shortly after it first rains, but not after it has rained for a while.

Dawson,

Edge Racing really has some great prices huh? I just purchased my tires from them aswell for my 3pc. wheels that im still waiting on to be finished. I went with the Falken Fk452 285/25/20 R & 245/30/20 F $948.02 for the set , best price in town.
