Can someone tell me how to remove the ash trade assy and the pocket above it??
thanks!

thanks!
Pretty easy. I just did this a couple weeks ago. First open the cup holder door about halfway. Grab the wood trim with the window switches in the back where the cupholder door is and pull up just enough to loosen the trim piece around the shifter. Remove the trim piece around the shifter and the switch panel will now come free. Once the switch panel is free you will see two screws holding the ashtray assembly in place. Remove those screws and wiggle the ashtray assembly out. Now reach up around the back of the pocket and near the top you will find a small locking tab. Pull down on the tab and slide the pocket straight out towards you.
Shouldn't take more then a few minutes.

thank alots!! I need to remove it so I can mount the TPMS display inside the pocket. I'm afraid to get a flat and no way to get home. since my spare tire is useless now

If you get the W211 spare don't forget you need the compressor to inflate it too. (my 210 has a full size spare)Originally Posted by Peter_02AMG

I carry a compressor, plug kit, pliers and a can of fix a flat (last resort) and a list of all the local flatbed tow companies.

If you use a spare tire from a W211 AMG E55 (should be big enough to fit over your new BBK) it is a "space saver" type and needs to be inflated before use. Originally Posted by Peter_02AMG

here are some pics.
OEM air pump and instructions

Bad pic but the road wheel 18" with 285 won't fit in spare compartment.

You can see the side wall all caved in

You mean you can't keep it inflated all the time?? Why doesn't it hold air like any other spare tire?? This is new too so I don't know why you need to inflat it each time you use it.Originally Posted by Yacht Master

Nope can't keep it inflated all the time, cause it won't fit in the compartment/wheel well in the trunk. thats why they call it a space saver.Originally Posted by Peter_02AMG

Most of the 03 E55s had no spare at all.
Btw my TPS seems to work much better on a nitrogen fill.

ExploreWhat is a a nitrogen fill?? i'm assuming this is one of those CO2 cartridge like what they used in Co2 gun.
How is this better and how does it work? Can one cartridge inflate a full size wheel?
thanks
