Cannonball E55!
New member James Cannon has an E55 with all the goodies. This has got to be the most upgraded E55 in the country. Here is the list of upgrades per James:
"Feel free to share them. I think you will appreciate the engine photos. As far as the modifications they are as follows: 14" cross drilled front brake rotors with 4 piston calipers, 12" cross drilled rear brake rotors with 4 piston calipers, rear suspension subframe mods with adjustable alloy multilinks, S.S.custom fitted headers with down pipes and cat backs, transmission upgrades for increased torque, high pressure AMG supercharger kit which requires engine disassembly for low compression pistons and engine block reinforcement to handle increased stresses to main bearing saddle supports, auxilliary oil cooler routed to the driver side lower grill (next to fog lamp), AMG SL55 engine control unit custom reconfigured. RENNtech has a dyno and they advertise this system to make 530 HP and 548 lb/ft torque. I was told rear wheel horsepower is 485. The technicians at my dealership have granted me cult status saying mine is the finest aftermarket modified Benz they have ever seen, and the quickest. By the way, top speed should be 187 MPH. Don't know if I'll ever try that! Hope this enlightens and others that will go this way with RENNtech."

cannonball run
I was part of program, driving with Jim to renntech. Both ways.
We hit top side of 135 mph in a short run with M5. Sorry I can't view pictures from site?

My apologies for mistating the rear wheel horsepower. It should have been 440 according to Hartmut Feyhl. I am awaiting the dyno results and will get them posted as soon as I can. I don't want people thinking I am sending out BS!

Sounds like one mean machine James.
Glad to see someone sharing their experiences...instead of trying to ram some cheezy aftermarket sales pitch down our throats.

Hey Cannon, I have a great eye for detail. Where is the fluid container for the headlamp washers which is usually located between the driver side headlamp and the window washer resorvoir?

Kev, you must be joking. If Cannon smells rain he runs for shelter. Not really, I'm not sure if he will be online later today or not. However do you have the photo of both the E & C side by side with hoods open. If so, please post. Thanks My401

Twins?
Thanks go to Pocholin for posting this pic. Not twins, just 2 AMiGos! More like big brother and little bro. If Pocholin succeeds tomorrow everyone will be able to see 2 AMiGos running at the drag strip. And hey E55KEV, I will have to look for the reservoir as I have never used it and may never need to. Did you notice the relocation of the air pump?
On another topic, I think AMG owners should form clubs in various areas of the country to gather and drag race, road race, and socialize. My buddy (MY401) and I attended a Ferrari Club meet at our local raceway and I was impressed with the people and event. They had some factory race cars, professional drivers,
vintage cars and instructors on hand. We AMG owners deserve no less! Please consider the idea and let's all discuss the concept.
Meanwhile be happy!

I'd be up for a Houston AMG club, but I think this club should accept other Benzes non AMG, there is a lot of enthusiasts out there that have modified they Benzes but are not AMG.
