As a previous owner of BMW's 335i, I agree it's quite a nasty car in its class, those tiny turbos are eventually lag-less, but what the 335i lags is top end. I don't think the 335i will be too much of a threat to properly tuned W211 E55s until there are some real upgrades such as complete R&D turbo kits & reliable ECU upgrades.
