19 Inch AMG CL rims

Greetings everyone,

I have a '02 E55 and was thinking of buying the AMG 19inch Cl rims. I know someone on this board had them. Everything on my car is stock right now. If I buy these I know that I will have to buy spacers for them. Do spacers effect the way the car rides or gets aligned? Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks all and happy holidays to everyone.

All what the spacers does is push the rims outward a little bit. Although i wouldn't use them. If you can get the CL's without using spacers that would be better.

JamE55,

are your rims polished all around? I am considering the HRE 547r or 543 r's. I like how yours look. Are they all polished or just the lip?

Thanks,

Ben H

The wheels for W220 & W215 use 14mm bolts and the W210 has 12mm. So they would not fit.

My wheels are not polished all around. I don't like that mesh full polished looks. It looks like it's chromed so i opted for a aluminum brushed finished. The lips are however full polished and i love them! Don't think you can go wrong with 547R's or 543R's. I like the 540R's just because of that racing mesh look.

You're right KEV. I remember Vic getting those bolts cut down to 12mm when he got his CL wheels for his E55.

JamE55,

did you have to change anything to make the 19 x 10's in the rear to fit? or are the 19x9 and 19 x10 rims fine without any mods?

thanks and Happy New Year.

No changes on the current setup 19x9F and 19x10R. Using the correct measurements Peter did on my wheel everything came out exactly as planned. No fender rolling and no spacers needed. Hope this helps.

Happy New Year to you too!

That front setup Jam is using up front (19X9) is a miracle to me. I tried to use 18X8 et35 wheel (OEM 18X8 et31) with a Nitto 555 245/40/18 and it rubbed inside. The Nitto does have a wider shoulder than others same size. I put the 245/40/18 Dunlop 9000s back up front and it is so close that some occasional rubbing occurs during parking when the wheels are turn to lock when the suspension is compressed.

Custom made wheels is how its done, I think Peter at WheelExperts had it done specifically for James' E55.

I had Brabus Multi V 9.5's in the front on my E55 with no rubbing.

I had the hubs on the wheels machined to I believe 68.5mm to match the axle hubs. I then had the spacers done so we could use the correct bolts and the tires were pushed out to the fenders.

I thought all Mercedes wheel hubs were the same - 66.56? What wheel uses the 68.5mm hubs? Thanks.

Vic, did you also use a spacer with the 9.5 Brabus wheels up front? What offset? Thanks.

Honestly Kev, your figures are probably right I just remember the shop telling me what they had to do and it involved 68 or 66 mm hubs and some mods that had to be done. I can get an exact answer but it will be later today after I talk to the shop- I can't remember the Brabus offset but it was either 36 or 32 and yes I used a spacer.
