W210 E55 AMG Oil Change

Hello All! I've done a ton of searches on google, this forum and benzworld.

I would like to know if anyone can point me to a specific DIY article or thread specifically for the W210 E55 AMG (V8) engines on a step by step process on HOW TO CHANGE oil.

Also, is it true that the Benz Dealerships use oil extractors?

Yes some dealerships use oil extractor, but its better to drain it through the drain plug in the pan.

There is really nothing special about the oil change.
1. lift vehicle with proper jack and stands, or drive up ramps.
2. remove oil filter (black plastic cap about 3inches across, 1inch tall
located in right front of motor right next to power steering reservoir.
3. remove center section on under body paneling under vehicle.
4. set drain pan under vehicle remove 13 mm drain plug, and let oil drain out.
5. when oil stops draining, install 13 mm drain plug back with new copper washer.
6. install new oil filter onto cap, with 4 new 0-ring seals.
7. will with 8qts. of Mobil 1 synthetic 0w40 or 5w40.
And thats it. Should take about 15-20 minutes.

You're not gonna find that...use this guide for your filter. Buy a oil extractor (I use a mityvac) warm up your car...let it sit a few minutes stick the tube down the oil dipstick ...suck out all the old oil...replace filter (use the guide ours is the same) then refill 8 liters ( I do 7 1/2 then check the oil level and fill up to the full mark) that's it! Our oil changes is the same as the E430 (same system)

This is incorrect information regarding using the drain plug. The reason Mercedes Benz drains the oil from the top is because the drain plug was moved to the side. You will remove the majority of the oil using a top sider, mitivac or anything like that. If you have a dealership that's removing your oil from the bottom...I suggest you run. No Mercedes Benz dealerships that I'm aware of drain the oil from the drain plug on any W210 or newer vehicle, it simply leaves to much dirty oil in the pan

No the I'm afraid that you are wrong. The only cars that might make a mess are the 4matics because of the way the subframe is shapped. I have been working on benzes for almost 10 years don't tell me how to do an oil change. You'll never get all the oil out with a vac. Not to mention some benzes have rear sumps. Which means they have 2 drain plugs.

I never told you how to do an oil change, I'm positive you're more than capable. We're not talking about a 4matic we're talking about about a W210 E55. The M113 only has one oil pan drain plug. I understand, and I do know the 55K and 63's they have two drain plugs to compensate for the higher oil demand of those AMG engines, also due to steering and subframe running through the middle, giving two lower sump areas.

To the OP, the oil drain plug is positioned so that when you drain the oil out of your car about 1/4 liter remains in the pan, the top extraction hose goes to the lowest part of the sump to get the most oil out of the pan, hence why Mercedes Benz uses this method. I do recommend you do this while the engine is warm to get the dirt and debris off the bottom of the pan.
