Eagle F1 A/S
Anyone have experience with Eagle F1 A/S tires? I have been disappointed in the wear on the Michelin Sport Pilots and my dealer is now quoting me $1,000 for a rear set, so I am looking at other options.

2001 E55 AMG
This is the BEST tire (Eagle F1 A/S) you can put on your E55, and about 1/2 the price of the MSP. They run quiet and predictable with a lot of grip in the wet.

PS2 are extreme good ones YES! have the same problem at the Pilot Sport 1 (Wear at low miles) but have a very good grip, at long of 3 years i use 3 models (Pilots PS1), (Pilots PS2) & (Potenza S02 Pole, "for 2 times") i need to say the best feel (on my car) are with the S02 pole position ...Not to common "i know"... but my possitive point is for the S02's..

I have Toyo Proxes 4 and they are starting to get a little loud for my tastes but provide excellent performance and tire wear. I've got over 12k on them and they are still looking and wearing nicely, got plenty of tread on them.

I put about 10K miles on these tires when I had my E55 and loved them. They were quiet and handled well. I found mine on ebay....but here is a link to the tire....http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...er/Performance

Goodyear's EAGLE F1 A/S are ok tires, I installed one set on my wife's BMW, so far after 2K miles performance is good. Toyo's T1Rs are ok too. I installed a set of Michelin PS2 on my E55 and I love them. Yes, there is a big difference between Michelin and Goodyear, but I guess you get what you paid for.

The Toyo's are bit loud after about 7k miles..but I just turn the beats up to drown out the world anyway. The wear performance is awesome. I got about 15k worth of life out of them. Would have been more without all the donuts

i just bought michelin pilot a/s plus tires.......havent instaled them yet ...they have 500 aa a tread wear rating....they r sitting in my garage and will install after i get new h/d bilsteins put on. then i will go back to my oem amg springs. taking off the h&r's to try to prolong the tire wear and secure a better ride....the a/s sport plus' are rated a 45,000 mile tire by michelin..paid $1100 for 275/35/18 & 245/40/18....supposedly rated the best a/s tires u can buy....we shall see and keep ya posted...

goodyears f1
I recently had the goodyears f1 A/S put on through americas tire company. The tires were good price and tread looked nice. Same exact spec as the michelin sports I had earlier. However, the car felt heavy with the goodyears on as if extra passengers in the back. Also there was rubbing on the front tires against the wheel well when turning at low speeds and on the bolt inside. I returned the tire back to americas tire next day. The mechanic checked and evenwith the same tire size the tire was too side. He saw the rubbing as well. The sup told me that different tire company even with the same dimension, one tire may be larger than another as this was the case with the goodyears. I would not recommend them all.
