Even though these Kleemann S/C systems are made to be run and function without a tune on a stock E55 ECU, i guess they will run better with a proper tune
Yes true, i'm going to run the pulley that came with the kit. With my custom double heat exchanger and W211 airboxes i think the car will produce quite much power even with the Kleemann pulley
Nice numbers on that 430

ABALONE....any update on this? As I am thinking of Kleemann SC too...How has the SC performed? I am soo concerned with overheating, since I live in tropical country, Indonesia, and traffic is just dead-terrible...thanks!

Thanks for the interest on my car/project.
My word of wisdom are these. The Kleemann S/C system is not a great and is pretty "raped" to achieve the power it makes. At least on a E55 W210 with stock injectors. They push everything to almost MAX level. Injectors, fuel,MAF and so on are so pushed to maximum level. And this is not something i just say, we have measured alot of things on my car with the stock Kleemann setup before i did my engine rebuild. Fuel, injector cycle, MAF where all pushed to the maximum.
But with a few mods it's can make the car really fast.
Regarding my car then. The engine was built last year and has been driven in. We didn't get all the things done on it that i wanted cause the next problem that started when you get to much power is that the tranny was staring to slip
So for this year i will build a new tranny with more clutch packs/discs in it. And if that works out together with the new TCU program i think i will do the bigger crank pulley system as on a W211 E55. Plan is to raise the boost to 0,8-1,0 bar and that will push the power upp to at least 650 HP. A larger heat exchanger is also in the plans, and a Porsche 996 GT2 fuel pump.
But like i said, a long road to walk. Also having plans on just making the tranny built and sell the car as it is (~550 HP). Would love the own a C63 with L/T headers and a more daily driver N/A engine. But again, this car is an amazing car and the W210 model is a legend in it's own kind, specially with the S/C (Zleeper)
I'm holding even with my friends midpiped, catless Nissan GT-R from 100 Km/h and up. Kind of good for a old W210 Benz

Awesome, even before the S/C your car went hard with the N/A mods! Enjoyed all your youtube vids! Any links to some high quality pics of the car and engine bay?

Abalone,
Great project and great car!
Quick question, though. What are the options for N/A tuning of this AMG engine and what numbers could achieved without spending some some ridiculous amount of money?
Also, I tried to find exact info about the suspension on your E55 but apart from garaget.org info there was not much info available. Would you care to let me know what coilovers you are running and what additional mods had to be done to make it work?
Many thanks

420hp in N/A is pretty easy to get with kleemann / ams / headers, pulleys, tune, resonator deleat + x pipe. i think our friend ABALONE are running on K-sport coilovers right?

W211
After all that work and $$$$ wouldn't it be cheaper, if you like the W210 body style so much, to just drop the W211 engine and tranny in the car and call it a day....Probably could find a used engne and tranny for a fairly decent price.

Also, isn't the tranny the same in both cars?
My point exactly
Thanks for that. I will start my research then!

Hello guys!
What Fabia D is saying, i'm on K-Sport coilovers. It really low, actually TO low in the front I will either try to raise it or put smaller front tires on it to see if the rubbing disappears.
You can get 400+ HP if you get headers, exhaust and a good tune to match it! I had 420 Hp/600 Nm with my N/A setup! it ran great like that.

Yes, almost right
Kleemann headers, Custom ECU tune, custom double 2.5" exhaust with 2 secondary race cats (no primarys) and 2 small full flow mufflers, X-pipe and no K&N,used stock paper filters.

Hmm, i never had a Kleemann muffler But i removed a smaller 4" resonator that was part of the custom built system to add a bit more edge to my exhaust. And now it's really "crisp" and loud
