Wink Got some 20's, check it out

Personally I think the 18's we're ok but I got bored of them and they look small from many angles so I decided to upgrade.

Before on stock 18s:

After: on 20" Monoblock replicas running 245/30/20 upfront and 285/30/20 in the rear.

Outside pic:

Proper fit, filled in the gap and its not lowered.

hmmm..maybe if you drop it a bit. Something just doesn't look right. Maybe 19's would've been a better choice. JMHO.

19" Chrome (though I don't like most completely chromed wheels). These must be replicas also? The guy claims they came off an 03' E55 and are official AMG Mono's...

Your 20's look nice though. How much did you pay for them? More importantly, how does the ride feel on 20's?

Dropping it would be suicide, im already rubbing slightly in the rear with the 285s, and I have less then a finger's gap.

Not worth the hassle to go from 18's to 19's.

The ride is the same if not better, I always liked the ride on bigger wheels, don't know why people cry about it when they never tried it.. it feels more stable, but you lose a bit of performance.

Ah ye, AMG did make 19's so sure they could be real, but chrome does not work on a silver car.

From the NORTH?

if you lose a bit of performance, I bet you loose accuracy on your speedometer too.

What's one thing have to do with the other? you lose performance because the rims weigh more, if you match the same diameter as the stock wheels which I almost have, your speedometer should not be affected.

you need to drop it and get 285/25/20 tires for the rears and you're set

Meh, was trying to avoid dropping it, and it looks fine as is, might look a bit tall in the pics but any 20's look big on a W210, Im planning to upgrade to a 03-06 CL55/600 after the summer so I don't want to dump any more unrecoverable $ into it.

don't know if it's the same for cars, but when I lifted my truck and put some big *** tires on it, the speedo went crazy. Had to do a mod that re-geared and made the speedometer give a correct reading.

I like it! as long as the front are the same diameter as stock his speedometer is ok. Speed sensor is taken off front wheel.

Nice!!

Heh thanks, my speedometer is all good, just slight rubbing on the driver side rear, im gonna hammer the inner fender in a bit or shave it down to take care of that.

I dunno guys, I can't even look at the stock 18's they look like a joke after having these things on, but I enjoy the criticism

I originally tried to do the math in my head, and I thought that you had added not just a bigger rim, but a bigger tire. The calculator, however, says it's only off by .3%, so when your speedo says 60 you are actually going 60.2, which is obviously not a noticeable difference.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

The rear is 4.5% bigger than stock, which is a difference, but not huge. I think at some point this can interfere with the ESP system (due to the different front and rear rotational rates), but under 5% difference is probably not an issue.

If you take this advice, your rears would be at .1% difference, which would probably be more ideal. The thought of driving on a 25 profile tire, though, makes me hurt.

I want these replicas in 19s. I do like the look of the 20s though, keeps the "stock" look with a little more flare!

Damn I just cleaned the ride and shined up the tires for the first time, this is one mean machine, forget about lowering it, its simply not needed, the stance from the rear looks like like a muscle car with these fat 285s haha, I also hammered in the inner wall of one of the rear fenders and I am no longer rubbing at all.

where did you order the rims from? thats a good price. Car looks great , i do think tucked on 20's would look insane. but like you said that tire size is not going to work for it so it will be cost prohibitive.

whats the width on the wheels?

I think it looks pretty good the way it is, especially being 20's. Granted I think from that angle they look a little big for the car, but this picture doesn't tell the whole story.

Can you get some pictures with better light? Preferably from a rear-quarter and front-quarter view.
