Front suspension noise/new wheels

Well, i finally got around to putting on the new wheels this weekend that I got for very very cheap. Once i installed them my front right suspension knock went away, for a while. I usually get a knock over bumps or imperfections on the road. I've had the car on a lift a couple of times and the sway bar end links look a little worn but nothing too bad. Both sides look the same so I "assumed" that was not it since the knock is only on the right side. I've changed the ball joints but it's still there.

Anyway, since the noise went away for a while once I jacked the car up to put the wheels on, i'm wondering if it is the shock or spring? The car does what it should but it has that very annoying knock that is driving me nuts.

I've taken it to a reputable indy and he told me that with these types of noises you just have to start changing parts out until it goes away, which is something I don't want to do.

Any ideas?

Not bad looking wheels, you should consider lowering it a bit though, btw I had the same type of knock, I thought it was my shocks as well, but I changed the sway bar links as the first thing and that was it 20$ part, the old ones can look FINE, but the inside bushing is finished so just change these first and see if it helps.

I've been meaning to lower it and probably will, the only thing stopping me is that my driveway is so freakin steep that if i don't angle it right it scrapes the *** as it sits now!

I will do the sway bar links and report back, thanks

I have a slight clank/knock coming from my driverside front when I hit bumps with window open only.

I'll be lowering my car this week, so I decided to replace the sway bar links and maybe control arm bushings while it's in the shop. They guy quoted my $150 for the links. Does that sound reasonable?

I asked him to give me the GRAND total for; Shocks & Springs install, alignment, sway bar links, and possibly control arm bushings if needed.

Just waiting for a call back. It's a repituble shop, so I know they'll do a great job.

Let me know if theres anything else I should look at, while they're working on the front anyway? I want a nice tight ride.

P.S. Sorry for the thread highjack.

what size profile

I am in the process of ordering Good Year F1 tires and I am getting confused as people are recommending different sizes

235/35/19
275/40/19

The other guy is advising:
245/35/19
275/30/19

I would really appreicate your input.

Do you get knocking sound when you brake sometimes too? I hear a clank/knock when I brake especially after a hard acceleration.

My original noise was a bad shock, but now i have all kinds of clunking noises coming from the front. It goes away when I am braking, most of the noises. My calipers don't have the brake pad clips intalled. I installed them once but they fell off after a couple of miles and I have been meaning to put them back on the right way for some time now.

But I think there is more to it than the clips. My rear end is also making some metal noises when I go over bumps.

Very annoying

on the rear, I would check the sway bar bracket. I had the same knocking whenever I went over bumps. One way to check is to put the car on a lift and pull on the sway bar. If its off its bracket it will hit your lower control arm. Just my .02
