What's my 2001 worth?
Hey guys...going back and forth with selling the E55. I love this car more than anything but honestly it's getting me in trouble. Can't control stepping on it. I've accumulated some speeding tickets and the illegal street races are just dangerous but I can never back down! Anyway here's what I got:
2001 black/black
95k
heated/ventalated seats
navigation
argos bluetooth
k40 radar front/rear built in the dash
Brand new rear tires 4/09
New motor mounts
akebono pads 4/09
Service B was just done 4/09
It's in immaculate condition...not like anybody's E55 on here isn't
So what is an honest price to ask for it? It has some major options and its under 100k for a 9 year old car.

It sounds pretty nice...Got some pics??
One reason I got rid of mine and I'm still kicking myself for it...So make sure it's what you really want to do.
I'd say anywhere from $15500-$18000. I personally wouldn't pay more then that.

Why would you want to sell it anyway?
Oh, and how do you like the Akebono's? I'm think of picking up a set very soon.
Good luck with the sale!!

As sad as it is to say, I don't think you'll get near $18k. The market is way too soft. There are great 01 AMG's out there just sitting on lots. Also, the new W212 body style will make the W210 body style that much older. I love the looks, but the car does not look brand new or even just a few years old.
Most people buying these cars will be financing them. Financing a 9 year old car with close to 100k is a little more difficult than a new car in that price range (15-20k). Also, most people buying a 9 year old 4-door sports car will be younger than the original age of ownership. Not to mention the insurance costs. These cars may be going in the 12-15k range right now, but they still require the maintenance of a $75k car.
Do you have the car financed? If you do, I would start by looking at how much you owe. I wouldn't pay someone to take an 01 E55 from me, but could probably live with selling it without letting any more money out the door.
Whenever I have sold a vehicle I have always priced it for a quick sale. Not that I am giving it away, but I price it competitively with others of the same make and model. Typically my vehicles have always had a lot of options and aftermarket performance/visual modifications. I don't put much if any premium on it. I'm not the kind of guy that sits around waiting for the "right" buyer to pay a premium for it. I am not the guy that "everything" is for sale for the right price. When I decide it's time, it's time.
In all fairness, I think you will get somewhere in the 12-16k range. The higher range if you find that "right" buyer.

The akebonos are awesome. Great stopping power and the best part of all is the brake dust. Honestly I don't have to wash my wheels anymore, just one swipe when i'm washing the car. It's like night and day compared to OEM.

I agree, I've seen many 01's in the 12 range unfortuanately and even though I have options I don't think that will matter much when most are 12 - 13k. If I wanted to sell I would probably go with 14k and take it from there. Pretty great deal for the price I'd say.

2000 E55 AMG
Let me be blunt. You would be lucky to get $12K.
Mine is a 2000 with only 64K on the clock, and she is only worth $12K in today's market.
With that said, mine is a keeper. And, I know I would deeply regret taking $12K for this kind of performance.

Well. it looks like i'm going to have to keep it forever. It's true, 12k for this car just isn't something that sits well with me. Maybe i'll keep her a bit longer...

Drive it for another 100k miles!
It's interesting how the 500e's are still going for 12-15k+ now for models with 100k plus miles. Maybe the 210 E55s will see a resurgence in the years to come since they are both limited production cars.
