Anyone locate a cheaper set of Rotors then stock? even ebay has them for over $800 that's pretty ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure I saw stock rotors for my '04 S55 for less than $200 each, but I'm not sure where. Most likely from a sponsor or an ad from this site.

Guess what, you bought a $73k car, rotors are expensive...

Not sure why MB went with these, all the 03'+ rotors are much cheaper.

I always look at it this way, if I was the type complain about maintenance costs I would have bought a honda. Everyone knows our maintenance costs are not in proportion to those of a chevy, toyota, or a honda.

Thanks for the tip champ, but I owned plenty of luxury cars in the past and none used $250+ a piece rotors, atleast I would want some exclusive stopping power, but that's not really the case... just an overpriced design, especially when 03+ rotors that are bigger cost less.

You're right... an overpriced design... but in my experience with "luxury cars" is that unless they are a lexus and share parts with a toyota, the car maker always has some parts that seem outrageously expensive. For us, one of those things is rotors.

How many other models did AMG put our rotors on?

Get them a dime a dozen from the recking yards.

Most people realize that the AMGs are not the typical production cars and requires top of the line mechanics for service and a premium paid for parts. If not prepared for these costs, re evaluate your ownership; maybe a KIA suits your needs better.

Owning both a Kia (wife) and a Mercedes (me), I wouldn't knock Kia.

There are cars with better stopping power but cheaper rotors. So it's not like you're paying more for quality. It's just they picked a unique design, and unique means expensive.
