Picking up the new ride tomorrow
I'm a former CLK guy, but after selling that a couple years ago when I found out the wife was pregnant and going through a couple other vehicles, I just had to come back to Mercedes. So now I'll be getting my "family friendly" new car. First a pic of my former car. Then a pic of the new car that I'm getting tomorrow.

I had an Eisenmann Race (removed resonators as well) on the CLK. I was hoping to put one on the W210 but after seeing the prices I'm thinking that's not going to happen. I absolutely loved the sound of the Eisenmann.

I also liked having the chrome key, so I may see if I can pick up one of those too. Guess I need to do a few searches and see if anyone found a good place for cheap like that one place everyone got them from a few years ago.

Ha ha. Very true. Well, I had no license plate at all on the drive home so I figured I better be "responsible" and not draw attention to myself.

I particularly like the gauge covers, do you know if it's available for the 2000-2002 gauges? (I noticed that one is from a 99' or earlier)
Also noticed the steering wheel emblem. I know the 99's had the one built into them, 2000's were when they started using the chrome, but I kinda like the gloss black with symbol in it.

JT,
very good choice... I was actually looking at that exact car on ebay to start an AMS E55 project car , very smart choice. You will notice that the W210 has many little technological advances over the CLK55 that make it a much better daily (so much so that I actually miss the old E55, it got ALOT better gas mileage). A few examples are full electric telescope/tilt steering wheel, better quality comfier seats & etc. With stage 2 setup and a few minor things I could get 31mpg on the hwy, but for stock 24.5 is about right. X-pipe is the first mod you should always do on the W210 E55 AMGs. And while you are in there I would highly recommend getting the high flow secondary cats as well (might as well do it all at once and save labor). Make sure they keep the middle flange and just cut out the necessary parts to keep as much of the OEM piping as possible). You should pick up at least 15HP @ wheels from X-pipe & 2nd cats combined (if not more).
Enjoy!

I knew that I was looking at the old car, I was just asking if it was an Alpine 7995 headunit and if you were into car audio at all.

Honestly I don't remember the model on the head unit. It was in there when I bought it but I did have my old school Punch 4080 amp and a 12" Solobaric in. I was into audio stuff a long time ago but haven't kept up too much lately. I probably won't even bother putting anything nice in this time around seeing as how it's going to be a family car. Probably the first time in 17 years that I won't have something at least decent head unit and amp/sub wise.

Congrats JTB! That car turns my head every time I see one.
First thing you have to do : Rebadge it to an E320 and take it to the track and watch everyone's expressions.
I can't wait to see it next time I'm in B-town.

Got my new pedals and installed those today. The new shift knob is on the way (should be here tomorrow I hope). I'll be ordering the magnaflow x-pipe soon unless someone can suggest a better one.
Oh, also probably tint my orange side markers with vht nightshades this weekend depending on what I have going on.
