Getting my exhaust work done
I finally got all the parts for the exhaust work. I got the Magnaflow 2.5" x-pipe, two Magnaflow 45 degree bend tubes 2.5" and two high flow cats 2.5" to replace the secondary ones. Again, nothing new here....just following what everyone else has done.
So with that, here's what the stock exhaust sounds like.

I'm getting the exhaust work done tomorrow so I'll post up a new video as soon as I can. Then I plan on updating again maybe a month or two later once everything "breaks in".

Just picked up the car. Sounds a little deeper and a little smoother. Not a huge difference though I don't think. Not like when I went from stock to Eisenmann on my CLK. Anyway, I'll take pictures of the install as the guy said he basically had to chop everything off. He ended up welding the x-pipe to the cats I belive. He also had to throw a couple other pieces on and said if I had brought 4 (instead of 2) 45 degree bends it all would have worked well.
He also mentioned that one of my cats was cracked and it was a good thing I decided to go with new high flow cats because it wasn't going to last much longer. So overall I'm glad I did all of it at once since I was basically going to have to anyway soon enough.
Again, I'll try and get another video posted here in the next couple days of the new sound.

It takes a few weeks before it really opens up and settles in. It will get nicer with time as the ECU adjusts. Good job, looks like you did it right.

I just wish I would have had time for a before and after dyno. That's ok though, I've seen the results you posted plus I didn't really even do it for the HP. I did it for a deeper and louder exhaust note.

Both have been dyno proven over and over again so there's no real point in doing it, the results are already pretty well known. You will enjoy the sound once fully developed.

Well here's my 1 month update. I'm not sure if the video really picks it up, but it definitely is deeper. It's still not as great as my Eisenmann (man I miss that exhaust), but hey, it's still great for my "family car".

Correct, the deepness of the exhaust note is what changes the most with the 2nd cats. To get more grunt on of the exhaust system the only real way is with our headers. That will change the exhaust note the most and give it a truly unique sound.
