Timed run results

Today was my first chance to get out there and do a few timed runs in my car. I just used the dynolicious app on my ipod. Actually seems fairly correct for the stated factory times on the car. Only things off are the discrepancies in HP. In the first run I had traction control off and spun the tires a bit. The second run I had it on and did it well without spinning.

First run:
Acceleration

0-10 MPH: 1.19 sec
0-20 MPH: 1.90 sec
0-30 MPH: 2.57 sec
0-40 MPH: 3.36 sec
0-50 MPH: 4.32 sec
0-60 MPH: 5.37 sec
0-70 MPH: 6.49 sec
0-80 MPH: 7.85 sec
0-90 MPH: 9.50 sec
0-100 MPH: 11.07 sec

Elapsed Time

60': 2.67 sec @ 30.2 MPH
330': 6.15 sec @ 67.7 MPH
1/8 mi: 9.03 sec @ 80.2 MPH
1000': 11.41 sec @ 107.9 MPH
1/4 mi: 13.43 sec @ 108.9 MPH

Miscellaneous

Max Speed: 114.1 MPH
Max Acceleration: 0.69 G's
Peak Horsepower: 328 HP

Second run:
Acceleration

0-10 MPH: 0.85 sec
0-20 MPH: 1.62 sec
0-30 MPH: 2.40 sec
0-40 MPH: 3.18 sec
0-50 MPH: 4.25 sec
0-60 MPH: 5.36 sec
0-70 MPH: 6.60 sec
0-80 MPH: 8.16 sec
0-90 MPH: 9.99 sec
0-100 MPH: 11.95 sec

Elapsed Time

60': 2.39 sec @ 30.3 MPH
330': 5.97 sec @ 62.8 MPH
1/8 mi: 8.91 sec @ 83.9 MPH
1000': 11.43 sec @ 102.1 MPH
1/4 mi: 13.52 sec @ 112.0 MPH

Miscellaneous

Max Speed: 108.2 MPH
Max Acceleration: 0.87 G's
Peak Horsepower: 286 HP

How you mount it is the most important factor in the accuracy, just shoving it somewhere or holding it isn't nearly accurate enough. The windshield mounts are like $10-20, its worth the investment to get truly accurate results.

With that said its pretty accurate. I forget if the dyno apps measure crank or wheel HP so you may want to figure that out, it may be giving you wheel power (or trying to at least). Also, for the vehicle weight, did you get exact weight of your vehicle from a scale and then add your body weight? All are crucial factors in achieving maximum accuracy.

Yeah, I just wanted to see how it worked first and then thought maybe I'd try and fashion some sort of mount.

I got the weight from Edmunds.com specs and then added my weight and then added a few more pounds in there (guesstimate) for things like gas and stuff. Honestly though, I really don't care too much about the HP numbers (I did set it to supposedly give me rwhp though). I was just looking for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

I guess if I want completely accuracy I'll go dyno it, but for now it's good enough for me. I doubt I'll do too many more mods for power so I just wanted to see what kind of info the program would give me.

286HP-320HP is the correct HP range for rear wheel HP. Once you get the mount, the accuracy will be even better and that range should narrow down considerably. The armrest/holding methods are never accurate.

AMS Performance: What are the average stock times for these cars? And what do you think is a realistic time for a current, realistic example (i.e some miles, maybe abused a bit, good but not pristine shape, etc.).

Thanks.

Honestly, The CLK55s are getting so cheap you might as well get the AMG version of it (no disrespect to the CLK500 guys). Typical numbers for CLK55s are in the low 13s/high 12s depending on different variables. They are definitely very quick out of the box and can be made even quicker for much much $$.
