Califirnia cats
According to information from the C.A.R.B., located here:
http://arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/de...o/D-353-61.pdf
It looks like Miller Catalyzer Corporation has a universal fit secondary cat for 1999-2002 E55's.
Part number 11212
They quoted me $250 each.
Has anyone bought these and installed them?

Looks like they are gone
I had called them direct before in Hayward, CA.
I just looked on google and also tried their number in Hayward.
Phone is disconnected and their website (millercat.com) does not come up.

Magnaflow is way too expensive
I just checked the Magnaflow site and they are selling California front cats for $845 ea and rear cats for $666 ea. How's that for a major ripoff?

AFAIK, our cars, due to the ESP, are not given the latest under-load emissions test. They receive the old school one that checks emissions under various RPM but no load. IMHO, any catalytic converter will pass this test, or at least come darn close. Also, I have NEVER seen a shop go under my car to actually inspect the cat itself. If they see a bulge, that's the cat.
