even if you have a misfire, could be just the coils. get yourself a code reader first, maybe he's pulling your leg. has he shown you the motor mounts condition? head gasket for what? does it leak, are you overheating? flushing of all fluids is always good specially if you haven't done it in awhile. brakes if you diy it's about $850 in parts all oem btw.
