Carbon Fiber Trim?

Hello all, Although I know longer own my e55, my mechanic does, and has slowly been rebuilding it since the deer that hit me took out the hood, bumper fender, door, mirror, radiator, coolant tank, headlight, grille, and some other things.

I just thought i would share pictures of the cf wrap that he put inside, i plan on doing this to my m5, it looks really great and it makes me miss the E55 that much more.

..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQdqYm2ynVY ....and heres a little video of the m5 with glasspacks as i'm experimenting with my exhaust.

2 W210 E55, CLK 63, S65, Infinity Qx56, Taurus SHO - all heavy moded, Porsche Cayenne Turbo stock
If it's true CF and not a vinyl tape with print - I would love to buy it

AMG
looks like vinyl wrap.

True CF overlay would have epoxy on it, and true CF wraps are typically darker black and the weaves are actually separate. That wrap looks like its stamped in b/c the weaves are too perfect after application.

Agree. I have a full silver CF interior and looks different from that. It has a glossy shine on it.

I agree too! seems 3M carbon vinyl wrap to me too

But anyway looks good & don't have the big cost $$$ than real carbon

Some one know about a silver carbon trim to our E55's?? definetly looks awesome in a black interior

yup, it is a wrap, but i don't think it is vinyl, i think it is something else because it can be clear coated.

I'm going to experiment with clear coat next week and i'll let you know how it goes.

Greg, how much does the wrap cost? Did your mechanic do it himself or did he take it to an upholstery shop to have it done?

I'll find the cost of the wrap for you on monday when the shop is open.

He did it himself, he has wrapped headliners in suede and other things like that so this wasn't too different from that

The material in Question Is Di-Noc material By 3M And as for clear coating it Ive tried and the heat from the summer months tends to tighten the material and the clear slighly rinkles

I've done my window pillars in matte black di-noc wrap during the summer and notice on one of the window during these cold *** winter days that around the edge where i streched it over the wrap has started to shrivel up im guess due to the cold weather making it shrink rather then stay stretched up ..
I'd love to have and extra set of trip pieces interior to wrap with the CF 3m di-noc that stuff is the **** .. I've also seen alot of sellers call their product gi-noc wrap but if it doesnt say 3m its the imitation stuff ..
