That's a pretty vague question...

Where are you located, what kind of driving do you usually do? Do you drive the car in winter? What's your budget?

The stickier you can get in the back, the better. Balance traction against cost and your need to drive in inclement weather.

Tires to consider.

1. Michelin PS2
2. Hankook Ventus V12 Evo
3. Pirelli P-Zero
4. Toyo T1R's
5. Continental Extreme Contact DW
6. Sumitomo HTR Z III

All of these depends on your budget, driving style, etc..

Used to drive E55
I've been using the cheapest i could find. I burn them up so fast why spend on expensive tire. I used Nexen 3000 or 7000 series. Then again mine is a daily driver. and has miles on it. not like some that drive it once in a while.

Michelins or Bridgetones for me depending on deals... if not I look for Dunlops or Pirellis.

I live in Seattle so it's wet here most of the time and I don't drive the car when it snows.. I also drive around ALOT.

I went to Discount Tires yesterday and talked to them and ended up ordering Yokohama Advan S4. The guy reccomended these over any others was because they were the "best" and they were directional tires.
I also asked him about Michelins and other tires and he said Michelins are not worth the price and everything else is garbage. And I don't think Discount tires promote Yokohamas so.. I guess he was speaking from his heart.

I lived in Portland with my AMG and loved the Toyo Proxes 4. And I didn't know what quiet tires were until I moved to AZ. Doesn't matter where you live in the NW all the roads create a ton of tire and road noise.

OP...I hope those tires are good for you. Let us know how they are.

I had BFG KDW on my other one and they were great. I'm about to go through the samething

Myst,

Not yet.

Problem is the shop i was using doesn't have a 285/30-19 PS2's in stock to do a test fitment. And i don't want to order it and not be able to return the tire just in case i run into problems. I've had the 275/30-19 setup before but want a little more grip.

I think the PS2s are just getting too expensive. I'm gonna buy 2 for the rear(front is still good) and when they wear out I'm think I might try out some Nitto Invos or Pirellis. I can't wait to see how the 285s fit.

Actually my other alternative are the Hankook Ventus Evo V12's if the walls on the PS2's prove to be taller than my fitment requirements.

If they have those in stock you should try 'em. How low is your car?

Unfortunately they didn't have those at the time of my visit. So i'm waiting for them to get those in stock too so i could do a test fitment. Not sure how low the car is but it's about a finger gap from the tire sidewall to the fender on my older SO-3 tires.

They are such an odd size. 295/30s would be easier to get, but who knows if that will fit or not

I know. Kind of unique and maybe not very popular? But will keep everyone posted!

So I had Michilen PS in the front and Toyos Proxes 4 in the rear... Loud as hell. Heard everything. Couldn't hear the people talking that well..

Now that these Yokohama Advan S4s are on... Soft, sticky, quiet, peaceful. Good investment. 1200 including insurance at discount tires.

I still have Proxes 4 up front and Goodyear's in the back and my tires are so so quiet here in Arizona. In Oregon they were soo loud. Must be the roads.
