Strut tower bar project

After seaching for commercial bar for years, I decide to made custom one based on photo from W208 model. I do the drawing and made them machined at the local shop. If there is interest, I can give you the schematic with all the dimensions. Now with those bar combined with bigger tire, whider track I can keep-up with M3 on the track after 3 years being behind:

Nice! Something I've always wanted to do on my 43.

My only 2 cents would be to pull off the rubber seal along the top of the fire wall, notch the bottom, and run the bar underneath so the hood seals properly when closed. You may have to notch out a square inch of metal as I did running some hoses/wire through the same area. If done right it should look like you didn't touch it.

A notch in the rubber is the only thing that I can do. The bar toutch the Air filter assembly. If you look at the picture, I start with 1 inch rod and I had reduce the middle to 3/4 to get it pass under the hood.

I forgot how tall the airbox sits off of the manifold? I suggest a Kleemann blower for a little more underhood clearance to give the brace breathing room

The handling improvement is bigger than I have expected. The first observation is while accelerating in a turn, the inner wheel spin less (ESP off). At second, the understeer is reduced by 10-15%. In fact I got my car stock giving me 0.87g on the 300 ft. skid pad. Lowering suspension raise it to 0.89g, always on street tire. Upgrading tire size with SL500 wheels 255 front and 285 rear (rolling the fender) produced whider track resulting in 0.95g with front camber -1.0 degree. With the bar I reach 1.01g still on dry hot sunny day.
