1997 E50 Stock model from Japan
Hi Guys,
I just bought an AMG E50 1997 in Bahrain.
This car was shipped from Japan.
I wanna change to K&N fliter '33-2747' or any other better options ??
Can the Cat. Coverter be removed for tis model ?
Wat exhaust model/ type is good for E50 ?
Would anyone suggest any mods for improved acceleration ?

* Yes you can remove it, but you might think in SMOG pass in your contry, any issues?
* Some people use Eissenmann, but its to loud for someones, maybe remus.. but IMO, just deleat the center resonator, put an x-pipe in the 2nd cats place, & thats it.
improve accel. mmmmmm try the exhaust job first & comment, but might help the supersprint shorty's

You can paint the black part on your door handles silver to match the car. looks pretty cool in this color

It would be good idea to paint it to body colour..
Ok abt my exhaust.. I don't have a cross pipe.. The 2nd CAT. was probably removed, now there are 2 straight pipes, running parallel to the centre box .. !
Is it a good config ? my collegue told me thats a bad idea, i should have a x pipe b4 the centre box for more torque..

Hey pal! well this is the point! straight pipes works better than OEM Cats, but better one is the x-pipe exactly in the second cats place!, you would use the Summit Racing X pipe or magnaflow one i post in this thread:

Filters: K&N not better than BMC - BMC not better than K&N= pretty same quality, but k&n's comes with lots of oil & is nooooo good for your hot wire maf sensor! BMC's comes without lots of oil (a little cleaner) & i see personally the cotton is more closed than K&N ones this is the reason why i use BMC's (In cars with our MAF styles) anyway 2 brands are exelant!!
I recommend you do the center resonetor deleat & run 2 x 45° 2.5" mandrel bend pipes (can buy at magnaflow or ebay) is the best best setup for this car, best sound not loudder pretty conservative & agressive at WOT
