Multi Contour Seat Cushion replacement - OEM or aftermarket foam?
So my drivers side is like sitting in a hole. I have an auto upholstery guy who will put common seat foam in it. To me these Mercedes OEM seats are not all that comfortable. My guess is foam would be much better but am not sure. Anyone had this done? Cost would be about the same for the OEM rubberized cushion vs the foam.

Just got the cushion in from the dealer. Had to special order from Germany. Got it for $100. Great deal IMHO. It even came with a new front air bladder as part of the assembly. That saved me $30 extra bucks as mine leaks.
I'll try to put it in this weekend. I'll take photos. I am thinking it is not a bad job at all.

ahh! that explains it! I always thought there were bladders where your butt goes and that mine were bad. But my cushion is also sagging a bit and I'd like to fix it.

Well got home and became a bad dad and disconnected husband and decided to do the cushion. Let me say it's not the easiest job. The documents I reviewed prior were pretty useless. If one is mechanically inclined and has no trouble with connectors, hoses, and bolts all over the place and upholstery clips and can work carefully, then this job is not impossible but on my scale, it is a hard job and I do all kinds of work on cars. Took me 5 hours working at a good clip. I took lots of pics and will try to post them along with a "how to" this weekend. Seat feels nice and new now but would probably advise replacing the spring as well if going in. It looks to me like the spring in these seats could wear out but so far, so good. Also replaced the "stepped" bolts with factory upgrades to eliminate the "popping" noise from the seat rocking on acceleration/braking. That's the time to do it.
I will say this, that if I have to go back in, the job would take a lot less time as I now know the proper order of things and what to do on each step. I'll write it up so hopefully someone else won't have to explore as much as I did.
