Why people sell these cars...?
The car finally arrived. Got it inspected and registered.
I can't believe my eyes. It is soooo beautifull!
Why do people sell them? It is a fantastic combination of performance, style, room for 4 people and safety.
Soon I will start doing some basic things to it, but just wanted to drop a line to the group and post her first pic. Cheers.

Congrats , she looks mean yet elegant !! Clean too !!
Yea i can see myself upgrading later in life but at my current financial state , the car is paid off . Cant see my self sellng to get anything lesser and honestly I've been driving it daily for a year now and rarely see many nicer cars on a daily basis then mine and mine is 10 yrs old with almost 130k . I have only spotted 2 w210 E55's in my state since buying mine 1 was on the road and other was forsale listing .. That right there tells me this isnt your everyday type of car even for being 10 yrs old..
Goodluck , Enjoy , post some more pics lets see the inside.
Any plans or upgrades coming in near future ???

When I buy a car I normally don't regret it. I don't buy on impulse. I buy for solid reasons, whether is beauty and/or power and/or significance in the automobile history. 6 months or 6 years after the initial purchse I still admire all of them. If people end up regreting a car purchase, he/she may have not put enough thougth process into the purchase, so regret comes soon after. I doubt if I will change my mind 6 months from now, but I will let the group know then....thanks.

Enjoy her in good health glad to see the original rims dumped (OEM rims are extremely heavy)
Cheers!

My theory is that the original owners sell them because they can afford high end cars. No need to keep an old car around.
Second owners sell them why? Not sure but I suspect sometimes it's because if they use the dealer, the service prices can quickly approach a significant portion of the purchase price.
For someone like me who is income challenged but can do anything on a car and has tools, these cars are a really special thing. The resale sucks but that is good for me as the buyer and the car is truly among the best ever built. They look good and do everything a car should do exceptionally well. They are really fast and handle great and are safe. Awesome brakes and comfort. All for between $7500 and $20K depending on what you find with reliability. I couldn't ask for much more and I doubt I would be more satisfied with a car at any price.
A real taste of high-end automobiles in a way that I can live with.
I really respect these cars and the people that appreciate them.

I agree with you. I have only a few hours of ownership but I did lots of research and hard thinking before buying this one, and I could not agree more with you. What an exceptional value if you consider cost vs benefit. I am not an expert mechanic but I trust this forum will provide support when needed, coupled to a reputable shop here in town. cheers.

^ You are right. The front end is timeless and classy especially with the hood ornament imho. I still get a lot a stares from the front of the car. The rest is nice enough.

450 BHP Saab 9000 Aero
Well I had no choice but to sell mine 2 years ago mate! Loss of job and good earnings...out of work for 5 weeks and the new job paid less than half of what I was previously on. So the AMG had to go and I went back to Saab's.
What I found was these cars are relatively cheap to buy (although I lost over £3k on mine in 10 months) bought for £7,500 sold for £4,200
The servicing and repairs were huge for me. The car was back with the Mercedes Specialists on average every 6 weeks with at least £500-£600 repair bills....sometimes closer to a grand! So it cost a small fortune to run along with the high insurance & fuel costs. Gutted as I wanted to spend the cash on more mods to get some big power out of that lovely V8.... but life's crap sometimes
Gorgeous car though. Fast, comfy and lovely to drive....but the Saab's a lot quicker :
