What's the widest tires...

What's the widest tires I can put on a 19x10 rim? Will a 295 fit or will it be too wide? I know a member ran a 285 with no problem but was just wondering if a 295 will work as well? How much fender rolling would this require?

Thanks

It's been a very long time so i don't remember what the rear ET is. I think it's somewhere around et36 or et34? Not sure of the backspacing as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

For the most part, a 295 should fit a 10" rim. 285 is the absolute optimum fit. Section height is another consideration. The lower the section height, the more a tire tends to spread. A 295/30/19 would probably fit best on a 10.5 rim. I currently have 275/30/19X10 on my 911 rear, and it appears wide. In this case, I couldn't image a 295 on the rear. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the responses.

Was originally set to get a set of PS2's when i just read about the brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports which i understood from Tirerack, Motortrend and Road & Track review's is suppose to be better and cheaper!

Only problem now is it looks like Michelin doesn't make it on a 285/30/19 size which is really what i wanted. Might have to settle for a 275/30/19 but probably will wait until April when the tire is officially out and maybe by then they *might* come out with that specific size.

After some thought, I went out to take a peek at my 911 rears and realized I made an incorrect statement. The 275/30/19 tire on my 19X10 is coming up too narrow. There is a 1/4" gap between the bead of the tire and the bead of the rim. A 285 would still remain the absolute optimum fit, and a 295 would be a little wide but acceptable. These six day work weeks are making me brain dead, and I apologize for the misinformation.

Thanks ruBENZ! Just looking to get the widest possible tires I can for maximum traction. It's just too bad the Super Sports does't have that specific size.

I have 10" rear rims and 275/30/19, and i wouldn't go even a millimetre wider cause that will make the wheels look like on a Stock BMW M5 (Tractor wheels) with to much rubber on them

I have 18X10 rims on the rear of my CLK55. I run 265/35-18 PS2s and they work great....FYI, the F1 Safety Car ran 255s on the rear (18X10).

Thanks for all of the replies and feedback guys. Greatly appreciated.

The K system should have a new rubber hopefully soon!

Special shout out to the W208 CLK55 God and Enforcer of the mortals!
