Looks good. According to Kelly BB the private owner price should range from 13 to 15. Looks like this is on the lower end. Could have defects or simply a good price.

Don't take the owners words for anything. Get a carfax before making the final commitment. Request maintenance records. Don't take his word for it. Ask where the maintenance was done and then call them with the vin to confirm.

Have a mechanic check it out before making any commitment. Again do not believe the previous owner. Do you research and follow up.

Plenty of smooth talking liers out, sorry to say. Been looking for a CLK55 for 3 weeks, never been lied to so much in my life.

Negotiate even if its a great price. If you know you are willing to buy it for 13. List him all the defects or things that might need changing and offer 12. Wait a day for him to call you. Good luck.

Actually i think its a very low mileage car according to the year and this is the most interesting. I will probably putting 15000 miles per year now.
I have the W211 E55 and i know the W210 should be easier to keep.
No SC, no air suspension... the seller also claim changed the CPS so.... i will take a look by this Sunday and if its good, i will just pick it up.

Again, if anybody know this car previous owner, please chin in !

Thanx !

2000 E55 Black/Black in SD

Hey Charlie

This car has been overlooked by buyers for the last year. Seller started at $16K and dropped to $15K around December. Rustbucket went down to SD to check her out in Feb with price down to $13.5K. His comments are as follows:

"The black interior is immaculate, aftermarket stereo sounds great, everything works, no pixel problem.
The black paint is shiny with numerous doordings and scratches, still clearcoated.
Drove very strange with a bouncy steering wheel, maybe shocks? Maybe the lowering of the car? Pulled strong and braked hard."

I spoke with Ernesto (owner) after Rustbucket went down to examine this 2000. All services including tranny flush and fresh tires have been done. He explains the "bounce" to the run flat tires installed. Shocks are perfect he says. When I told him that I had cash and asked him if he would accept an offer, Ernesto says "Sure, $13.5K is what I will take!"

Good luck. Let us know what you think if you go inspect this one.

How much he offer to the seller ? $12.5K ? $13k is too high for the year...
Anyways, run flat tires ??? so the tires are bad from Feb ?

To clearup some of the questions:

The owner Mr. Guzman, has had the vehicle for 6 years.
All maintainence has been done on time.
All fluids grained and flushed, trans and diff.
The interior is fresh and immaculate.
The car is lowered.
The car has a set of run flat tires installed a few months back. This "altered' the cars handling performance giving a "bouncy" steering wheel.

Rustbucket did not offer as Ernesto was holding firm to his $13.5K. Personally, I was going to push $11-11.5K in his hand depending on how the car ran. He didn't want to budge back then... maybe now?

Hey Charlie, curious to see if your headed down to SD to inspect Ernesto's ride?

Also, did you see the 2000 silver/black 1 owner in Upland? 120K miles and "loaded"... I am still waiting a response to see what that means.

Not yet, this one is very new.... just came out not long ago.
I think the price might not negotiable due to its the first owner but the down side is 120K miles. I am buying for long 80 miles daily drive so not looking for too many miles car. However, silver will be easier to take care than Black. The silver one has the original Navi which is nice to have. Let me know after you test drive it ! Maybe we will get any of these E55 !

Plus, the silver one looks more stock, no lower, no special tires, no tint...

I am window shopping for the right car for me. And when the right car comes along, I have a safe stacked with $100s for the seller. I have found that most of the vehicles here in CA are "overpriced" for what they are. Nobody has really excited me except for Charlie in SD and we couldn't agree on price. It seems to me that when I look outta state, I find lower mile and more optioned vehicles with a more "realistic" price.

I really like it..... drove it for 2 days, the car was very well taken care.....
the paint are in excellent condition and leather are like new. Love it !
Just feel very stiff ....... dont know why..... I dont feel the road as much when I drive my W211 E55. I dont think its because of the tires.... so W210 is stiffier ? feel more in road condition ?

^^ Previous owner prolly just changed the spring suspension that's why you feel stiff when riding the car.

If the car has runflats installed, that explains why it feels stiff and you feel the road bumps more. Runflats have very stiff sidewalls and this translates into a rougher ride, especially when the suspension was not originally setup for runflats. I think when you replace those tires with regular, non-run flats, you'll enjoy the ride more without sacrificing anything in the handling dept.

well...... the runflat only has like few thousand miles on it. Maybe other 20K miles more... I will just go with Goodyear or Hankook V12.
I have Dunlop in the back...

I'd be surprised if you get 15k out of those runflats.
